An interesting photograph that took some research, careful planning and even more careful timing. There was a partial solar eclipse visible in Europe and the Mid-East yesterday. A photographer traveled to the Sultanate of Oman and took the photo below of the sun being eclipsed by the moon and the International Space Station. the ISS took only 0.8 seconds to cross the disk of the sun. The path where this event was visible (due to the geometries involved) was only a few miles wide and about 20 miles long). Taken with Takahashi FSQ-106 on EM-10 mount, Canon 5D mark II, exposure of 1/5000s. Sorry for the size of the image.
