Question for you media mavens out there: What are your suggestions for the best (and hopefully free) software for ripping CDs to mp3, and for burning those mp3 files to CDs?
I've had some passable programs on my old computer, and the new one of course came with a few options already installed. But the easy stuff invariably SUCKS! There must be some good free options out there. Do any of you have any suggestions? Thanks!.........Jake

Jake, just stick a DVD or CD in the tray, then drag files to the drive as if you were copying them to a new folder, when you have dragged all the files you want to copy, just hit the "Burn to Disk" button.
As for ripping, I use the Windows Media Player for that with pretty good results. Drop the CD in the tray, and unless you have it set to play automatically, you should get a windows with a variety of options, one of which should be "Rip Music from CD" or something similar.
