I have been going through the photo archives, scanning a representative sampling and some of the more unique shots that have been taken back before the pixel era. Ran across this one last night. In February of 95 Ann had a PhD student who was working on studying Black Bears, what they eat, how the spend their day, etc. In February, while they are denned up for the winter, he would go out and take metrics on the hibernating adults and any cubs that have been birthed (most women are highly impressed that bears deliver their litter while hibernating and wonder why humans cant do the same). Because of the opportunity, Ann took our daughter and another professor on the student's committee took their kid out into the field. It was about a 1/2 mile walk on snowshoes, but the result was a life time experience. The cubs had to be kept warm while their mother was examined so Heather got the chance to wrap up this little guy in her coat. Shortly after this was taken, our daughter was the recipient of a bear burp.

I agree Gordon, that is great picture. Lots of color, slightly out of focus youngster looking on and an emphasis on the cub with your daughter.
