I'm setting up a little eCommerce store to sell some software products that I produce. Up until now, my "fulfillment" process has consisted of getting a PayPal notice of money received, and then me emailing the product. But this new method should allow the customers to "instant download" the product. I think I have it set up properly, but I could use a few outside tests. You don't have to actually buy anything (unless you want to, of course), but just see if the products properly go into a shopping cart, and if the process seems to make sense. One template is here: engineeringsolutions.homestead.com/template_CBA.htmlAnd the other is here: engineeringsolutions.homestead.com/template_QFD.htmlIn both cases, it is the SWREG (Method #3 in the list of options) that I need tested. Thanks a bunch!......Jake PS - a free copy of the template of your choice to anyone who provides a report of how well (or badly) it works. PPS - if anyone knows of a better eCommerce solution than this one, I'd be glad to hear about that, too.

Did you look into the Yahoo Store?

No, but I did just now. I don't see that they have software instant delivery included as an option; just physical shipping.

They do allow for downloading things like audio/video files, but I'd need to research other types.

That looks like it should work. I'll have to do more research to see if I like it better than my current one. Thanks!
Edited: Nope, not gonna work. A Yahoo store starts at $40/month. I'm not going to fork out that kind of dough until I know I have the business volume to justify it. My SWREG system only takes a cut of the sales (a larger cut than Yahoo), with no monthly fee to maintain the store. I'm sure there's a "break-even point" of sales volume where the Yahoo store becomes cheaper in the long run, but I'm also pretty sure I'm not there yet.

The both went to the shopping cart professor with no problem. Just clicked and there it was. Hope you can sell lots of them.

I realize this might be a little out-of-scope considering what you originally asked for, but FWIW ...
I think the site isn't performing proper data validation.
Here's what I did:
a) go to the 1st link and click Instant Download from item #3 Notice: Quantity=1
b) pull down the Quantity menu and select "other"
c) enter a ridiculous Quantity
Note: I just appended 10 zeros after the 1
d) click Update Cart
Expected Result: an error message telling me that I entered a Quantity that exceeded the boundary limit (whatever that may be) and requesting I enter a number between 1 and <some_integer>.
Actual Result: A screen that says "Your Basket is Empty" with a Subtotal of $0.00; the rest of the screen is asking me how I want to pay (and since it's a total cost of nada, I might as well use AmEx)
-- BB (I'm a professional, so please don't try this at home)

Interesting. I'll have to try it from my office computer where the site won't recognize me.
