No chatter at all and tonight is the penultimate episode of the season. I already know a couple of spoilers and the shit hits the fan tonight.

I haven't watched it since the second season premier episode. I have a lot of respect for their production values and their character integrity, but it dropped below the cut-off line due to too many other, more compelling shows. I'm glad others are enjoying it.

Anybody out there still watching? Last night was off the charts with the plot development. I have never seen a major character ever kick the bucket like that last night. Uncharted territory in my book.

We never miss The Walking Dead at our house....love this show and the last episode was a jaw-dropper, two major characters gone and another missing. I guess we'll have to wait and see what has become of Carol, and the Governor is one bad dude. I'm sure his people and Rick's group will meet up at some point and it's not going to be pretty.

I finally got into The Walking Dead three weeks ago, and have since watched my way through seasons 1 and 2 and tonight will be watching episodes 14,15 and 16 to finish off season 3.
I have loved every minute of the show... the characters are very well written, the action is so exciting you sometimes almost shout out "behind you" as unseen walkers attack, and the gore has made me look away from the screen on a couple of occasion. I love the total lack of empathy for the walkers and the relish with which they dispatch them.
A few minor criticisms though, such as how Rick just turned up and took charge of an established group right at the start of the show. If the logic was that as a Sheriff's Deputy he has the natural authority to be in charge wouldn't his cop buddy Shane already have be running things? Also, in the months between seasons 1 and 2 when they were homeless you'd think they'd have come across some more suitable vehicles for their situation than a Hyundai SUV and an old pick up truck. And I really would like to know what the Governor's agenda actually is. Sure, he's a nasty piece of work, so he's not looking after the people in Woodbury for altruistic reasons, so what are his reasons?

Well I finished my Walking Dead marathon last night and what a great end to season 3 that was. It was great to see the Governor get his arse kicked, and a shocking turn when he subsequently killed all of his hurriedly assembled militia. Also, I was very sad that Andrea died as she was one of my favourite characters.
Can't wait for season 4 now!

And the antenna definitely go up if a minor character suddenly gets a lot of dialogue or camera time in an episode. I know they are departing soon. I don't think we have seen the last of the Governor.

A good friend of mine is a television script writer and he always says that the key to success is to create characters that the viewers actually care about. I think the key to Walking Dead's success with its characters has been to do just that... then kill them, treating viewers like the weaker partner in a relationship where the dominant partner has a "treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen" philosophy.

You guys are getting my interest in this show but I tend to prefer relaxing and comedy for entertainment.

It's a great show Gaz and well worth getting up to date on it before the new season starts in the fall.
