As a run - up to Father's Day, I attended something of a Whisky Week tasting -- or maybe I should say tastings, because there was a tasting every night last week from Tuesday through Friday. Part One was Single Malt Scotch -- for the review (which included Old Pulteney and Lagavulin), click here. As time and opportunity allow, I'll try to post tastings from the remaining nights.

Too bad you didnt get to try the Glenfarclas 105. I tried it over a year ago and requested it for Fathers Day last year. It holds a spot of distinction in my collection.
Glad you got to try the Old Pult. I found the saltiness an interesting addition to the flavors but not worthy of a purchase.
I will be on the lookout for the Lagavulin. I enjoy the peat flavors and that one sounds interesting.
Edited: Looking down the menu, in addition to the Glenfarclas, I have the Balvenie 12 Doublewood and the Oban 14 Distillers Edition on the shelf

Nice collection -- I can only manage one at a time. Recently finished Peat Monster, just bought Laphroaig, but haven't yet had a chance to crack it open.
