I was debating with myself whether or not to post this in the Movies section of the board since this is about two of my favoritest time-wasters: Movies & Cocktails. Since I was the advocate for this forum, I decided to post it here. Today's NY Times had a fun article called Pairing a DVD and a Drink Takes Care (click the link to read the whole thing -- it's really not that long). Do you agree with the selections they made for each movie? If not, what would you recommend that might be more appropriate? Also, what movies do you like that aren't listed and what would be a good cocktail to go with them? I'll start off with this one: If I'm watching almost *any* movie in the classic "Thin Man" series, then I'd probably want to drink a Manhattan. Also, are there movie genres that call for a certain type of cocktail? E.g., only whiskey with a Western? Cosmopolitans with any chick flick? This could turn out to be a fun experiment ...

The Wizard of Oz might require something that you could smoke.

May the Force be with you after that one I'll have to try that regardless of the movie if for no other reason than the fact that it'll give me an excuse to have my first sample of ouzo.
