My daughter dropped her phone in the sink while doing dishes. We took the battery out and placed it in a bowl of dry, uncooked rice. I also looked at several sites and that is what is generally agreed to do. Any bets on if it will work? She is having withdrawal going without texting for a couple of days.

Too bad she didnt have the foresight to press *22 before doing the dishes, that makes the cell phone waterproof.

When I die, I don't want to be cremated. Instead, I want to be buried in a bowl of dry, uncooked rice.

Well, the phone worked.
My son in the Coast Guard has a water resistant phone. It can get damp but not soaked and still work. He really likes it.
