The daughter was home over the long weekend and given that we dont know how many more of these Thanksgiving visits we can expect in the future, we decided to put up the Christmas tree one more time as a family. Here are the results (unfortunately, harsh flash and reflective cat eyes, I will get out the tripod and play with some manual settings later) Regrettably, I cant get the overhead without the beam.

Great picture and follow up carpentry work! Also, as far as decorating trees go, it's inspiring when the kids decorate it with their holiday enthusiasm and appreciation even as they get older.

I was hoping to put these famous New York iron-workers on the beam but I don't think it's that easy.

Gary, since Bif cut that beam, I have enough structural worries to occupy me, please keep them off until I can shore that thing up

I'm sure there's damage to the living room floor and carpet, if you need an estimate for the insurance company let me know.

Just make sure you remember to tell Gary beforehand how much you want the estimate to be for Simon

Maybe I'll fax a bill directly to Bif for you. What's your deductible? I'll build it into the quote. This going to be expensive, just the travel alone!

Actually, just send the bill to Bif since he did the work without consent... and spare no expense. Since Bif is paying, that room transitions into the dining area plus up the stars into the loft, that will be about 120 yards in total that will need to be replaced, 30 year guarantee please, plus all the usual add ons. Oh yes, this will have to be fixed before the holidays, so go ahead and charge Bif for rush delivery/installation

That's right it all has to match, off the top of my head I'm thinking around $8,500 plus another $3,000 for each of us to cover Hedo trips. We'll need to relax after it's all done.

Very nice, RH. Much better than people who send Christmas cards which are nothing but a picture of their freaking KIDS!!! I don't like kids in the first place; why would I want to see pictures of somebody's brats and pretend it's a Christmas wish?

Because they are trying to make you feel better about the fact that you DON'T have kids yourself.

Even if they're not his kids, I bet he's probably shared some DNA with them in other ways.
