As Jake got the ball rolling with his 'Autumn Colours' thread, I thought I'd get another theme started and decided to pick 'Transportation' from my previous suggestions. So here's a couple too get the ball rolling : A VW camper van I spotted on one of our trips to Brighton in the summerI took this in August at dawn from the car ferry bringing us back from France. The white areas on the horizon are the chalk cliffs along the French coastI posted this one last year after our short vacation on the north Norfolk coast and thought it was worth another airing for this threadAnyone else want to play? On occasion I'll see a VW Micro bus and the memories come flooding back. A friend had one when we were teenagers and I recall having to keep my foot to floor, in an effort to maintain highway speed if there was more than 2 people in it. Still, it was part of growing up and all fun.

This old wooden cruiser has been sitting in this abandon house's backyard as long I can remember. The vessel has great lines and although the aging process has gotten the better of it, I can easily romance and imagine the day she was launched. A side note. 1) Notice the reflection and glare in the first picture, the sealed glass in front of the lens captures that all the time. I'm going to need another camera. 2) The small brown cedar building in the background is said to be the first "firehouse" of our town, about 1870.

About 7 years ago I went to a boat show in Connecticut. This Amphicar was in the parking lot. When I was a kid a neighbor had one.

Also from several Septembers ago. This little run-about looked very inviting for a ride but you need to be careful. The Hudson can get very rough with no notice.

Here's some boating photos from my trip to China a few years ago. The first one was on a small gondola in a little town (which in China means less than a million people) called Suzhou. They were taken from the gondola I was in, which looked pretty much like the ones in front of us: These next two were from a much larger boat, traveling down the Yangtze through the "Three Gorges" area. The first one was taken during the daytime; the second from around dusk:

Following Abdul's nautical theme, this is one I took today in London whilst standing on the Millennium Bridge looking up the River Thames : I'll post more pictures in a more appropriate thread. Simon

A very plain but very quick 1968 Old's 442. I took this picture during an Oldsmobile event at Englishtown Raceway. I find it's unassuming looks appealing.
