Yes, Simon, I stole your thread title from another section, but honest injun I already had it in my head. Where we live now, we are lucky enough to have an awesome view. Over the last year+ I've taken several photos...same scene, different looks. I thought it could be fun to share what i see outside my window at times. We currently rent a little house on Moreton Bay. There are two sand islands out in the bay which protect us from the Pacific Ocean. Sometimes they are clear enough to see and sometimes not. We get the sunrise and the moonrise...this is one of the moonrises.

This is a sunrise from just last week. Right before the sun comes up. The pic really doesn't do the full colour justice, but it grabs a bit of it. Here, my whole sleeping pattern has changed. There-I used to be late to bed, hit the snooze button 4-5 times before dragging my ass out of bed. Here, I am usually up before the alarm goes off...round 5-6...the sun rises early here, so I think the daylight starting at 4:30 (in the spring and summer)has something to do with it. Off to bed usually by 10. Regardless, I am enjoying it.

Damn, I re-read that post and was thinking, I KNOW I didn't type (for a very important date!) but then realized I "am" in wonderland and the unexpected is rather expected. Do I need to ch-ch-change back to the cheshire cat? nah.......I'll keep my exhibitionism going for now.

This one was back in April. I think I read it in Bridges of Madison County, he was a photographer and called the rays of light that visably shine down from the heavens; "God's Light". I don't have to be a True Believer to agree with this description.

This is one of my favs. It was a rainy day, Feb 09, the window was closed and I noticed this little gecko just hanging out. He made a neat little sillouette against the gray rainy background. Just a note of interest. When we moved here, I kept noticing that at dusk and a little beyond, I kept hearing these kissing, smooching sounds. Figured it was a bird or frog of some sort. I finally asked someone and learned it was these little geckos. Quite cool little lizards, they get into the house frequently (no screens) and we enjoy them.

This was also last week, the day after the sunrise shown in pics above. One of those morning when the sun is huge and the whole focus. No scenery, just sun and color.

Those photos reminded my of something. For many years my dentist had this photo he took of a waterfalls near here. I asked him about it and he told me that he took it himself. I was a nice enough photo, the falls were about 20 feet high and had a pool/rapids above/below the falls and a lot of vegetation around the falls and in the foreground. BUT, something was just not right about it.
After going to him for several years, and looking at it from the dentist chair I could not point my finger on what exactly was wrong with it. One appointment, he was running late and I walked over to the photo and started really looking at it, I realized it was hung upside down. When he walked in I pointed this out to him (the foam bubbles on the rapids "below" the falls were upside down and were actually foam above the falls). He went over to look at it, turned his head over and said "by god youre right". My next visit the photo was gone, and he did a root canal. That was the last time I was ever an art critic.

When you vomit in Australia, do they call it "throwing down"?
