I've been checking air and hotel packages for Vegas and I'm finding it to be the same price as I paid almost 10 years ago. On past trips we stayed at Mandalay Bay and the Rio. Does anyone have a favorite? We're looking for the better pools over other amenities.

You should look into the Hard Rock -- and make sure you do Rehab on Sunday afternoon! That's where all the strippers party.

I'm just lukewarm on Vegas but prefer to stay at Caesar's Palace.

The Rio is nice if you don't mind being off the strip. I've gotten good deals at the Imperial Palace and at Circus-Circus. But I haven't been there in over ten years, so my data is not particularly current.
I used to always try to stay at the Sands, but alas......

My nephew is a long-time bartender at The Paris, so we tend to stay there. If I were you Gary, I'd stay where-ever I got the best deal. It's like Hedo, you ain't spending any time in your room, 'ya know?? Go a block off the strip and you used to get some REAL good deals, but haven't priced those in a long time. You'll probably want to stay somewhere between New York New York and Caesars Palace so you don't have to walk too far, however. Most of the good shows are in that area, though we saw the Doobie Brothers at the Hilton, which is towards the North end and not an easy walk, though there is now a shuttle train between the areas that is pretty nice. You might want to take the misses and check out some of the legal brothels West of Las Vegas for some fun too. Well, just an idea . . . . .

New York New York ,Luxor, and Treasurer Island are some of our favorites.
Right now Luxor has rooms Sunday night to Thursday for $50.00 a night.
Treasurer Island has a great restaurant called the Buccaneer Bay Room. It over look the front of the hotel and the show that goes on every hpur out there in the evening.

Air and hotel packages are incredibly cheap. JFK to McCarran and the full list of hotel choices for $500 to $750 for 4 days per person. That's incredibly low. www.vegas.com

It's not the cost of staying and getting there that's expensive, it's what you spend when you get there. Hit me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shit 29 again.

I never play the numbers on the roulette table. I just play red and black. I calculate the odds of me hitting one of those two colors on every spin at about 7 to 1 in my favor. I don't see how the casinos can stay in business with such poor odds. They must be overcharging on the drinks or something.

In Vegas, the odds are much better with the hookers -- but only if you wear one of those little latex party hats.

My luck is so bad in Vegas, I loose money in the soda machines. I'll play Black Jack if my buddies are but I'm not comfortable watching hard earned money disappear before my eyes. However, I'll make a play on Wallstreet for the day or so with a fraction of the fear.
One time I played Black Jack using the same $100 for hours and I guy sitting next to me lost $5000 in about 30 minutes. When he first sat down to play they opened a bottle of Champagne for him. When he left the table he exclaimed "a monkey can play this game".
He might have been referring to me because I hitting on 15 and 16 and getting 2 and 3 in return merely as a novice and for the laughter I received from my friends, nothing worked for him though.
A friend turned me on to Ketel 1 Martini's that night and after the second one I forgot to say Martini and just asked for Ketel 1.
It was a good time.

I found a way to make the odds completely even in Vegas. As soon as you put your money into the slot machine, instead of pulling the "one arm," hit the "coin return" button. Your payoff is almost exactly one-to-one. Best odds in town.....Jake

And of course, if you're going to Vegas, you should make sure you're well informed on not only what to drink, but where to drink, as well. Check out The World's Greatest Drinking Show for tips on tippling.

Im not sure Jake. In Vegas the house always wins in the long run... better check those odds on the coin return.
