I have had the chance to see them play a few times this year. Although Texas has a solid team I think they may have gotten into more than they can handle with the Tigers. Tonight should be interesting to see how both teams respond to both the roller coaster emotion and physical toll of the heat from last night's game.

NOLA, we have a big game tonight. Very big game. We have our ace pitching tonight but we need the bats to wake up again. It should be an excellent game. I was impressed with how your freshman shut us down last night. That seldom happened to us this year. Geaux Tigers!

Hook 'em horns. The Battle of the Sabine River. "Now for a handful of guilders I happen to have a private and uncut performance of The Rape of the Sabine Women - or rather woman, or rather Alfred - (Over his shoulder.) Get your skirt on, Alfred" Zilla (did the battle start something like that?)

LSU played a masterful game last night and deserves the championship. They are my second favorite team and I am a fan of LSU unless they are playing my alma mater Texas.
One thing that surprised me was the players cramping up from the heat in the first game. If any two teams should be able to tolerate the heat, it should be UT and LSU. The temps are over 100 in Austin every day this week and Baton Rouge is close to the same with some more humidity thrown in just for fun. That's what they practice in.

It was a very pleasant evening in the Nola household last night. I might be in the minority but I think Texas would be better served if they made Augie retire. I think today's game has passed him by and the better kids don't like playing his style of baseball. If Texas played like the SEC does they would be unbelievable with the TX high school kids that would flock to Austin to play. Now I have a little rearranging to do in my office today. My back wall has the 5 front pages of the Baton Rouge paper from the first five national championship issues. It is now time to make room for front page number six.

They had a little ceremony yesterday when the team returned to campus and they unveiled the new championship flags at the stadium.
