The Giants are the same. You can not keep losing games 1 to 0 and expect to make the playoffs. The series aginst the Cubs could be for pride and nothing more, but I looking forward to it.

psssst.... BTW, keep your eyes on them Tigers. My money says come October it will be the Cubs vs Tigers for the World Champs. Tigers will be there. Sad to say, not mathematically eliminated is the only factor keeping us in.

Tigers are trying hard to make a race of it. A win yesterday after 5 losses in a row.

Well Gordon, yesterday they tied it up in the ninth and won in the tenth. They have to win their division to stay in. They have six games left with the Twins and three with the Soxs. They play .500 ball with them two and they will be in. As for the Cubs they are hot hot hot but need Colorado, San Francisco, and Florida, to get cold cold cold. In other words a small miracle.

I am ready for the post season and have pretty will come to the conclusion that the Giants will not be part of it.(lost to the Dodgers today 12-1 fuckers).
I am going to pull for the Yankees in the AL and the Rockies in the NL.

I knew those Tiggers wouldnt disappoint, as of now the Twins are the better team and deserve the playoff spot. If they get their feet back under themselves , they can recover, they have 3 games against the Indians, 5 against the White Sox, and 4 more against the Twins to end the season, and the last 6 games of the year are at home. Its going to be an exciting two weeks.
Detroit plays MUCH better at home than on the road, as do the Twins and WSox. The theoreticals still favor Detroit, but they need to prove it on the field.

Hopefully this is the start of a turnaround... Id rather them be going into the playoffs coming off a slump than a hot streak.

Detroit/Minnesota split a double header yesterday, Detroit still up by 2 with 5 games to go. Minnesota again today and tomorrow, great head to head series for the division title.

Going to stick my neck out on the Tiger-Twins match up. I say the Tigers will win the AL Central by 2 games. They have been out their leading all year.

The Giants had their final home game of the season yesterday. Being neck deep in grape juice, I wasn't able to attend but did watch it on the Comcast replay this morning at 4:00AM when I got home.
Not a bad season for a team with a week line up. Maybe a bigger bat or two next year my get us the playoffs. Looking forward to the Home Opener in April 7, 2010.
As of now it's go Rockies in the NL and go Yankees in the AL.

Still holding my breath here. The Tigers refuse to win it until the last possible moment (probably good for gate receipts)

My faith in the Detroit Tiggers has been, well, validated. The Tiggers managed to blow the lead twice last night, and load the bases in the 12th with one out and not score, completing the collapse that started about one month ago when they were 7 games up. Detroit became the first team ever to lose 3 out of their last four games to yield up a playoff spot.
The better team won (the Twins have won 17 out of their last 21 games) and the Yanks better not be looking past this short series. The Twins pitching will have to be running on adrenaline for tonights game, they used 8 pitchers last night, if they can recoup from fatigue New York might have their hands full.

As a guy who closely follows a team that did a major Sept. choke in back-to-back years (2007 & 2008), I feel your pain. This year, we were spared because they finished so far down in the standings, the entire season was one prolonged choke. I'm thankful the nightmare is over.

Any team that blows a 7 game lead and lets it get down to a one game playoff to get in does not deserve to be there.
Sorry they didn't make it Gordon.
I am still pulling for the Rockies in the NL and the Yanks in the AL. I got my Yankee's hat but I have to see if I can get a Rockies hat real quick.
