"The main thing for me is to improve the soccer, to improve the standard, and to be part of history really because I think soccer can be a lot bigger in the U.S." - David Beckham, January 2007
"My intention is to stay in Milan, and I hope that can happen" - David Beckham, February 2009

I was in Texas in August 2007 just after Beckham's move to Galaxy and he was being hero worshipped. Almost every conversation I had ended up turning to the subject of Beckham and how good this would be for soccer in the USA. Now those people can see for themselves what a wanker he really is, and how dirty and underhand Italian clubs are. Galaxy were fools for letting their prize asset go to Milan on loan... looks like MLS have got a lot to learn.

Ive forgotten what we gave to Britain in exchange for Beckham, it was probably Pele, what will the Italians give us for stealing him away? A Fiat maybe?

Ive forgotten what we gave to Britain in exchange for Beckham You shouldn't have had to give us anything. We should have let you have him for free for saving our arses in two world wars... I thought the Italians bought Chrysler as their way of saying thanks. Simon

If the Italians get Chrysler along with Beckham, Id say we are in their debt, but we are willing to call it even if they insist
