Patrick Swayze's new series, "The Beast," begins this coming Thursday. Anyone looking forward to it as much as I am? It looks like it could be awesome. I hope there is a season 2!.......Jake

Munch character for one more series I do not think I could handle another character replacement. I am still traumatized from my childhood when they switched Darrin on me in Bewitched. To this day I do not feel that Dick Sargent did justice to the role that Dick York created and owned

You must hate Bond movies, then.

You must hate Bond movies, then. I gave up on them after Mr. Connery hung it up.

I'm looking forward to this show too as I love Patrick Swayze but I don't know how long the show will be on the air. He really didn't look well in the interview with Barbara Walters this past week and I understand that on Friday he checked into the hospital with pneumonia which were apparently complications from chemo.
Colleen
PS. I agree with you about the Bond thing. I really liked Connery and they totally lost me with Pierce Brosnan. I really didn't like him at all as Bond - I haven't watched any of the new ones and don't really feel compelled to.

Watched the show tonight. I must admit I was not blown away. It was cool, stylish, and violent, and hinted at possible greatness to come, but mostly left me dazed and confused.
But Swayze was clearly awesome, the writing was tense, and the directing was gripping. Only the plot left me kind of wondering. That could be a good thing, if future episodes bring it all together. Or it could be a bad thing, if it just stays confusing.
I'm going to have to reserve judgment and give it a few more episodes before I make a decision as to whether I like it or not.
Did anyone else see it? What did you think?

I really wanted to watch it but I just couldn't miss the farewell episode of Peterson leaving CSI. BTW, loved the ending. I'll check out the Beast next week though.

We watched CSI at 8, and The Beast at 10. Nice thing about cable channels is they show things over and over and over and ......

I don't get around to watching tv much (except for sports) and didn't see it.
psssst..... Not to ch-ch-change the topic, but, I did see a cool series called the *Mentalist* a few weeks ago. Is this a series that just came out too.

I've seen "The Mentalist" a couple of times. Not bad. I'd call it a modern version of Sherlock Holmes.

I totally missed it - was at the Metallica concert in DC on Thursday - which was AWESOME btw. I'm going to try and catch it next week - I'll look to see if the epi is on online but most of the cable shows I watch seem to only have the epi to purchase and I don't want to make that commitment on something I haven't seen yet.

I think I'm being way to soft, but it hurts me to watch Patrick Swayze, knowing what he's going through. I just started watching Boston Legal, OMG what a fabulous show! What a fabulous cast!

I LOVE Boston Legal - it's great! First time I've really liked William Shatner. I believe this is the last season Di so you'll have to catch it on DVD or syndication when it gets there.

Everyone likes Denny Crane. LOL Denny, Denny Crane. I don't know who's crazier Denny or Allan. For years, I was told to watch the show, but I think it always went against another show that I watched. I started watching it on ION television. I get to see 3 hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so i'm catching up and enjoying every minute of the show.

Speaking of Swayze, "Roadhouse" came on about 1 am last night. That's one of those movies I can't turn off, even though I know most of the dialog by heart. As soon as it started, I knew I'd be up until 3 am watching it......Jake ("I want you to be NICE!")

I watched the second installment of "The Beast" last night. Still feel about the same: nice grim mood, great violence, impressive work from Swayze, and great scenery. But the story is still just not very interesting. I think I'll give it one more episode before (reluctantly) dropping it from my list.......Jake

I still haven't seen it - just forgot on Thursday - though there's not much I watch on that day so I should have remembered. Maybe next week.
I have to agree with you on Roadhouse - I happened into it too and had a hard time pulling away from it. If it's during the day or a reasonable time of day, I'll usually watch it. I remember when it first came out - that car of his was beyond COOL and now when I look at it I think it's old - lol! He was very HOT then too so that doesn't hurt either!
PS. Di - I'm not sure if we get ION - think it's not on our cable channels - I don't pay for the fancy stuff - we have basic digital. (though I did gain some digital stations when we got the new LCD TV at Christmas - CBS is AWESOME in full HD!) My fav episode is the one where Denny talks Alan into going fishing in the great north - I think it's Canada where they end up - if you haven't seen it - I won't ruin it for you. I think this year's Christmas episode was pretty funny too.

I got the "Roadhouse" DVD the day it came out. One of my favorites, but more because of Ben Gazzara -- an excellent bad guy.
