Take just a moment to click on this! Read what is says. Not to many years ago, people with aortic aneurysms had to undergo surgery fraught with serious complications. This surgeon developed a method to employ a "stent," a device fished through a blood vessel through the groin that completely did away with surgery and revolutionized treatment of this common disorder. Rhonda is part of the group of doctor's that brought this treatment to the public. In an age where academic doctors almost always reign supreme, that a group of private practice doctors could do this in such a stunning way was amazing! Dr. Balko committed suicide a couple of days ago, all apparently over family problems. May he RIP.

Bob, God bless you and Rhonda and Dr. Balko. Academics of all disciplines have their place, but they never deserve to "reign supreme." Practitioners in the trenches always have the last word, as their beneficiaries can surely attest......Jake

Its a shame when talent is taken away from us, and tragic when someone reaches the point where they find suicide the best solution. Sorry to hear this Bob.
