Don Helms ,the steel guitar player for Hank Williams has died. I always enjoyed the sound of Hank Williams but didn't realize that this guy was the important man responsible for the twang sound.

Jambalaya (On the Bayou) and “Hey, Good Lookin.’ Were 2 of my favorites.

He has an interesting back round and has played with such notables as:

Personally, I like Hank III better, he sounds just like his grandfather.
