Not exactly an exoctic port but fun no less.
FLEW out of work on Friday the 19th at noon and on the road by 1:45pm. Stayed at Prava Suites right across the street from Galleria Mall which will be one of our hangouts for the next two days...hubby rewarded my hard work with a shopping spree! WooHoo!
We actually planned the trip around a restauraunt Bill found last summer. It's called Trulucks and they have the best crab legs I've ever had! We are talking a one pound leg...by it's self! I even have a picture of it....sucker came 1/3 the way up my forearm! Even the knuckle was sweet which I'm not used to. Remember in Little Rock crab legs are slim pickins. Thought an Apple martini would be good....then another...then another....
Not too late so we went back to the hotel bar where I had another martini....and another....in fact I had 7 more. OMG did I hurt at 4am. From what Bill told me I did walk-upright- to the room. Tried to eat breakfast the next morning but used my brain and stopped before I barfed on the table. Slept till noon.
Finally got to the mall....still drunk I believe....shopped till 4 and went back to the room and napped in the bath tub.
Went to dinner that night at another fabulous restauraunt called Bice(Bee-chay). Jake I believe they have one in Chicago. Authentic Italian food established in Milan in 1926. I have never had Italian food this wonderful! Decided not to have a martini tonight. Tonight was champagne..
Had another fun evening at the bar.
Next day went shopping at Northpark...umm...little outside my price range..
But I did touch a pair of $1400 shoes.....they were on sale too.
Went back to Galleria and shopped till I couldn't shop no more! Got me two pairs of Baby Phats for fun wear!
Can't leave Dallas without going back to Trulucks...after all it'll probably be another year til we get back. Also decided champagne was pretty good the night before.
Had a relaxing evening before bed.
May not have been the most exciting sounding trip, but we had fun.
Then back home on Monday......one thing we figured out is the Tom Tom gets a little...confused on the many overpasses and exits in downtown Dallas.
If you ever get a chance to eat at either of these restauraunts you should!
Spent the rest of vacation doing much needed spring cleaning....with an occasional rest in the hot tub.
It was just the kind of vacation we needed with no deadlines.
