Yesterday I went into the city, went to the box office of Sweet Charity and got 2 tickets for the matinee - 7th row center. Great seats. Light fun play. Christina Applegate was much better than I would have thought. Then we went for a few drinks, had dinner and decided to go to the box office of GlenGarry GlenRoss to see what kind of seats they had available for the evening performance. 6th row center. Really couldn't have asked for better. Watching the play was like picking up a book that you haven't read, opening it in the middle and reading a couple of chapters. The acting was great, although I couldn't get over how old Alan Alda looked - the worst was Tom Wopat - I don't recall seeing him since the Dukes of Hazards, and wow did he age.

Sounds like a day well spent (if not an expensive one ... ).
Years ago, when I saw the original production of GlenGarry, they performed it without an intermission. Was it done that way this time?
(BTW, I'm making a mental note to Smite Thee With Extreme Prejudice later because you went into Manhattan to see a play and you didn't tell me!)

No smiting, Dammit - I have worked hard enough for the few karmas I've gotten!
If it makes you feel better, I did think of you, and was planning to tell you to take a day off and meet me - need to use up vacation days - and believe it or not, this time I actually took the bus.
There was an intermission, between the Restaurant scene and the office. It was definately a weird one, only 45 minutes into the short play, and everyone was looking around saying - "is this intermission?"
