If it ever is playing in your town, see "Arcadia" by Tom Stoppard. A play set in two time periods (modern and 170 years ago), but the same room in a British estate, Arcadia explores chaos theory, sex, and desire to publish solved mysteries.
It opens with a pre-teen, highly intelligent, upperclass girl in the early 1800s asking her adorable male tutor (who's boffing a houseguest's wife), "What is carnal embrace?"
The dialog was so incredible I had to read it afterward just to try to keep up and will likely read it again and again for all the nuance.
