Just a heads up that HBO has a new mini-series starting tomorrow (Sunday) evening on the life of John Adams (with Paul Giamatti in the title role). Significant in our family because much of the filming for the series was done at Colonial Williamsburg last spring. Our daughter (through her History program contacts, and because she works at CW) got to do a lot of behind the scenes work in conjunction with the production. Mostly handling period props for the interior sets, setup and take down. She got to meet Giamatti prior to one shooting, but you wont see her in front of the camera. In fact, she and others had to clear the set prior to filming. However, several of her friends who actually portray characters indigenous to the colonial Williamsburg era do appear as extras. Adams never visited Williamsburg during his life, but Williamsburg is standing in for several colonial era locations that were a part of Adams life. Colonial Williamsburg Link regarding John Adams

I would recommend watching the the series. We starting watching it Sunday night and Giamatti does a fine job as John Adams.
Makes you recall your American History from dead brain cells.
Joe.

I still don't understand why HBO would go to the trouble of making a mini-series about the life of the actor who starred in "Get Smart" on TV back in the '60's.

I find that kind of cross-promotion disgusting.

And given the likelihood of product placement, the shoe-phone will likely be an Apple iPhone.
