Anyone else here live for Wednesday evening?
Apparently the new marketing campaign for Lost is not working...it would appear that this week's new episode would be the least watched episode since the show first aired.
am i the only one who would rather see them wrap up the show, and have 3 or 4 great seasons, than to keep on pressing through bad show, after bad show?

I haven't really enjoyed a single show in this current season the way I did the first two seasons. I read somewhere that they have now decided next season will be the last... don't know if there is any truth in that though.

They're dragging it out too much and the first episode after the break was a waste (IMOHO)
They took WAY too long of a break. Should have kept it on through the holidays, I guess they think we're not watching TV since it's the holidays but that's what TiVO or a VCR is for!

I agree that the wait was way too long. But this season, especially this weeks epi was so interesting. I belong to this geeke lost club thing. We pick apart each show. it is strange that jack remembers meeting desmond before the island and not charlie. getting back to desmond. we know he has gone back and forth a few times now. last year in a flash back he just got out of military prison and was met by penelopes father who gave him all his love letters he intercepted that desmond sent. he also gave him a suitcase full of money and a boat to go on the race around the word. How about that sueth sayer. knowing the future. but does she really. more to follow mikey

Mikey,
How do you know Desmond has gone back and forth and it just wasn't a background "update" like they've done on everyone else? I know this last week's was different but the first ones that they showed about him weren't (that I recall). When did Jack meet Charlie before? I don't remember that one either. I thought Desmond got the boat from another woman too - I could be confused here.
Do you think the boy is going to end up being an Other "plant" they were doing mind control on him in that bunker when they "rescued" him. I think they let him go with Sawyer and Kate too easily.

I watched this episode last night and I'm still laughing at the depiction of England. I couldn't believe the show's makers could employ so many tired clichés...
...black cabs, British policemen in horribly out of date uniforms, London Underground subway entrances and red telephone boxes in every scene... sometimes all in the same shot!! Every other man in the street wearing a flat cap or a pork pie hat, and when it began to rain everyone managed to put up large black umbrellas before the first drops had even hit the ground... I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the couch!! According to the scene-setting location shot, where Desmond and his girlfriend had their picture taken by the River Thames is where the London Eye is located, with former palace County Hall behind it. Instead there was some kind of brownstone cottage... to give an example of how wrong this was it would be like having a scene set in Times Square then showing the characters standing in front of the house from The Little House on the Prairie!!
All the episode needed was Dick Van Dyke dancing his way into it in his full Mary Poppins chimney sweep attire saying "Cor blimmey guv'nor, apples and pears, it's gonna be a real pea souper tonight and no mistake, let's go down the old rubber dub dub for a few jars with the trouble and strifes..."
I'd have been squirming if I hadn't been laughing so hard ;D

I thought the Union Jack on the wall behind the bar (something I've never seen in a pub) was meant to be the big hint ;D Oh and a special mention to the guy coming into the pub to attack the bar tender with a cricket bat... after all the trouble I went to a couple of weeks ago on this board to explain that baseball bats are the weapon of choice in these situations in the UK Simon

I thought Desmond got the boat from another woman too - I could be confused here. Jack met Desmond in the arena where jack was working out and desmond was getting in shape for his race around the world. In order to figure out what is going on with desmond, you really had to pay attention to last years epi's with desmond in them. tonights epi should answer some questions Mikey

I remember when Jack met Desmond and that epi and I think I've seen every epi with Desmond in it (he's a bit of eye candy for me and plus I LOVE his accent..)
They didn't show anything about Desmond this week did they? Was another Jack/Sawyer/Kate epi and Others...we'll see this week.

Makes me want to watch this past episode once again to note all of the things you have said Simon. I admit they were all lost on me. You can see them online at ABC.com - I missed an episode and watched it after online to catch up. Hope this helps. They've also been doing the last week's episode played BEFORE the NEW episode the last couple of weeks...
