Today at work, we got onto cartoons quotes. That was fun!
I smiled for hours thinking about Marvin the Matian saying..."There was supposed to be a kaboom! An eath shattering kaboom!"
Oh well, just thought it was funny and wanted to share my meaningless joy.... Later, DD

I can still watch Looney Tunes cartoons today and laugh and appreciate the weird humour of Chuck Jones and his crew. Some of my favorites are the one where Daffy duck (why a no chicken?) keeps getting redrawn by Bugs, "Kill the Wabbit", The Singing Frog and the one with the ghosts that only Daffy can see (oh, and the vampire bat one!) I have to admit I never liked the Roadrunner cartoons, just the same damn thing over and over again (I really wanted to see him as roadkill at least once!)

One that would always having me laughing was 'Friar duck (why a no chicken?)'. Daffy was one of my favorites. Kill the Wabbit....wasn't that also done like "The Barber of Seville"? DD

"Kill the Wabbit" was in "Whats Opera Doc" was a take off on Wagner's Ring of the Nibelung Opera "Ride of the Valkyries", and was absolutely one of the best cartoons of all time.
The "Rabbit of Seville" was based on the Rossini Opera.
I truly wonder what percentage of the American public's only exposure to opera has been through these cartoons (and wonder further, how many people dont even know the cartoons were based on classical opera)
