A TNT summer series which started last Sunday, The Company is based on the novel by Robert Littell about the CIA. Not bad for summer TV fair, it held my interest through the 2 hours of the first show and I intend to watch this Sunday. I have not read the novel, so I dont know where the series is headed storywise. It started out in post WWII Berlin before the Wall that would separate the city was built. Basic story, CIA agents had to flush out a Russian mole. There was also a subplot about a Russian agent placed in DC. These are not your Bond style agents, this is down and dirty espionage, no glamor and low pay (one protagonist is, at one point, is tempted to turn to the Russians by a $250,000 offer, he mentions his pay is $6,000/yr) The first episode was presented with very washed out color, almost sepia toned. I presume this is in part used to set the 'era' of the movie. Previews of upcoming shows had a much stronger color content. Not 'compelling' yet but worth your time. TNT, Sunday's, 8pm ET
