Looks like next Sunday CBS has a good show. It is called Numbers. Looks like it is a show about catching bad folks through mathematics. I'll be a catching its debut.

I saw some ads for that show tonight. Looks fascinating! It reminded me of a movie from several years ago called "Pi" (actually, the title was the Greek letter pi, not sure how to type that here). I'll be looking forward to it.....Jake

It looks like it could be a good show, but if it is going to go up against Desperate Housewives it could be DOA.
Joe.

I'd much rather watch a show about geeky techniques for solving crimes than one about shrewish housewives. Hope I'll remember to tune in to Numb3rs. (that ain't no typo)

and...... did any of you watch the show? what did you think of it? I caught an episode last time I was in St Louis visiting my folks. It seemed easily as good as CSI to me. So, I bought the first season on DVD. I'm having trouble limiting myself to one episode a night I have spoken with a couple of people I know (maths professors in England), while they have minor gripes about various phrasings or depictions of certain concepts (okay, *lots* of gripes about nit picky little things), they say the math itself is pretty solid. <happy sigh> I *do* like shows that make me think. I like the family aspect of the show too. I wish I could get my hands on the TI learning packets that go with each show. What say you? Zilla (how can you tell if you are talking to an extroverted mathematician?)

Sorry to say, I have never seen a single episode. Just too busy to watch much TV these days. But I'm glad it is earning the Zilla Seal of Approval.......Jake (he stares at your shoes when talking to you instead of his own shoes)

I've watched a few episodes whenever I happened to find it. None of the episodes stand out in my memory but I do recall that I liked them all (even if I still can't figure out how they use math to find killers and rapists). I do like Judd Hirsch as the father. He's always fun.
