'Back in the day' I was never a big fan of Miami Vice, but I remember once switching channels and catching the last few minutes of an episode that has been stuck firmly in my mind ever since. The memory of the Ferrari's engine being gunned over the haunting soundtrack of Dire Straits 'Brothers in Arms' still sends a shiver down my spine all these years later, and after I stumbled across it on YouTube today and learned the episode is called 'Out Where The Buses Don't Run' I just had to share. They don't (often) make TV that good these days.
Enjoy (or otherwise)

I bought the Miami Vice 1st season DVD's earlier this year, as I loved the series. Crockett & Tubbs were awesome, and of course the music was stellar when they were cruising.
But since our move to OZ I've found those damn DVD's do not work in the DVD players here. Still have the laptop to fall back on but the speakers just don't cut it.
Thanks Simon for the memories.

If you search online you might be able to find a code to 'crack' your Australian DVD player so it will become 'region-free.' Failing that 'region-free' DVD players are available quite cheaply on Amazon... I have a couple at home. Simon

I never was a big fan of the show but, when I did watch it the music was always great.
We did a tour while in Miami in 1989 and got to see lots of the places they filmed the show at. Some great sites. I don't think we have the picture any more, I'll ask the boss (Denice) if we still have any of them.
Sorry guys have the stero speakers plugged into my laptop and it sounds great.
Joe.

I remember the first episode, towards the end, Crockett gets in his car to go get the bad guy or something and the first notes of In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins filled my TV screen. It was the first time I had seen TV and popular music thrown together and it made a real impact on me. I watched the show from then on, as much to see which songs would make it on the show as for the show itself.

Simon, you are really working on that lap dance (and you don't have to, it would be my pleasure!)
Thanks for the memories, that scene has stayed in my mind for over 20 years (but I had forgotten that Tubbs was in the car as well!).
Jo (who can't get over how old this makes me sound!)
