I saw Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby" last night. Here is the review I posted at the TNMC website:
WARNING!! POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!
clint eastwood's "million dollar baby" (clint, hilary swank, morgan freeman). basically, an old crotchety boxing trainer reluctantly takes on an eager young chick who wants to learn to box (reluctantly: "I don't train girls!"), and takes her to the heights of the sport. but, despite all the boxing, it isn't really a boxing movie. it is about guilt, loss, regret, and fear. especially clint's character's. slow, languid direction, along with lots of sad-sack characters, add to the melancholy feel. very well made, but not for everyone. the ending is a total downer, but I won't discuss it here as it is kind of a twist. I'll just say that they could have called the movie "any which way but ambulatory". and it could have used clint's old orangutan to spice things up!
P.S. - In case you were wondering, the title of the movie referred to the last boxing match: it was a million dollar title bout, with the purse split 60/40. Which party got 60 and which got 40 was kind of up in the air......

... and it could have used clint's old orangutan to spice things up! See now, that would've been the better movie: Hillary Swank playing the part of an orangutan. Hmmm, but then the problem becomes the title -- the movie would have to be "Million Dollar Monkey" and the credits would read, "Swank, The Monkey".

We saw the movie yesterday and Angela's eye's were so red from crying that we couldn't walk around the mall like we planned after the movie. I thought it was a great movie. Jake the way I understood it the purse was split 50/50.
