After reading some comments on one of the other threads, I got the idea that perhaps a FAQ on this board might be helpful. Feel free to add your own. (One can only imagine. . .)

What the hell is this thing?
The Thursday Night Movie Club affectionately known as TNMC, is a message board created in January of 2005, that is attached to the TNMC website in which the anti-Moderator Jake has had established for years. We've turnned it into online playground for adults.
Why was it created?
After September 11, Denny added a World Events Discussion board, and a "bitch board", for people to blow off steam. Those lasted for several years, and a bunch of us really enjoyed them. Then later, Denny decided that they weren't really right for his board, and shut them down. No problem, he has a business to run and we can all respect that.
Those of us who were addicted to the lively conversation of those boards set up a separate board, so that we could continue our discussions, but not annoy Denny or interfere with his business.
Membership is open to anyone, and anything. You must have a good sense of humor, can play with the big boys, construct phonetically readable sentences, and has spell check. Levels of insanity vary.
There are no dues or fees, however upon meeting a TNMC member, one will be required to buy the other a drink at Delroy's at a predetermined time.
Jake is more of an "anti-moderator". It is his playground so he can do what he wants, when he wants, and to whoever he wants. He does not censor or delete posts, nor does he move threads to appropriate areas. Finding topics is like playing "hide and seek". He has been known to correct your sentence structure, and point out inappropriate use of serial commas, dangling participles, split infinitives, and having the audacity to end a sentence with a preposition, so post at your own risk.
The inmates run this asylum so beware; you stand to be corrected by everyone.
Nonexistant. Say what you want. Most of what you see posted here is fairly mundane, infantile ramblings, yet amusing and mildly stimulating at the same time.
What topics will I find here?
Topic headings are self explanatory, however, you will find major thread drifts here and sub topics within subtopics so you’ve got a lot of reading ahead of you to get up to speed with everyone else. Topics range from of solving world problems, right and left wing views on 7- elevens, and the ever controversial existential analysis of poo in its various forms.
Ya mon. Since many of the members are refugees from DennyP’s site, they have vacationed together at the same time of year at the Hedonism Resorts in Jamaica or have met at various Hedo parties. Some have never met. Some don’t ever want to meet, while others have a morbid curiosity, and may want to meet you under a fictitious name.
Not to register with TNMC and not post. Guest accounts are good for “getting to know the neighborhood”, beyond that, continuous posts as a “guest” are considered distasteful, not worth reading, we will think you are a gutless wonder, and you will piss off everyone because they can’t “smite” your Karma.
If you register and don’t post, you are considered boring and may be the next topic of conversation and the brunt of all jokes.
The term "archiving" as it generally applies to this board is the saving of a post or thread for historical purposes. Archiving can be done by any member or guest of the THMC, and is greatly appreciated. Generally, archiving is used most when posting or viewing a post over there, that you know has a high probability of being deleted because of its content. To archive, simply highlight the post or thread you wish to save, right click/ select "copy"/ come back over here,/click start thread/right click to past in message box, and submit for the viewing, and critiquing pleasure of all.
Sure, but the inmates are quick, and someone may have already copied and pasted it to another thread so you may be shit outta luck, and your written word will be preserved forever in the annals of internet history or their hard drive so don't bother.
Wazzup with those advertisements?
Proof that big brother is watching. The system picks up on key words in topic headings and selects ads they feel are appropriate. Try posting a topic on tampons and see what you get.
Absofuckinglutely. Just go into your profile you created when you joined and check the little box that says “delete my profile”, and your ass will be outta here. You just may get a standing ovation when you do.

1. In the menu at the top of the TNMC page, find the tool bar with the word "members" and click, locate your name, double click, then find "profile." Click on your profile to open.
2. You will now be in your profile page. Next, you need to find "personalized picture." It will be located right underneath personalized text. Click through the choices of avatars that proboards allows you to use. If you want one of their avatars, your selection needs to be highlighted, and the picture will show up to the right of the box. That will be your new avatar.
3. However, you can also use your own. If you have an avatar you would like to use, and have your own webspace for direct linking, then you can do this, if not then register at one of the hosting sites mentioned above.
4.Find a pic to use. (Google Images is a good source.) If it's already on your pc, just remember where it's saved. If you see one on the internet you like, right click, then save to desktop.
5. Upload pic from your pc to the hosting site (follow prompts on their site), and point to where the pic is saved on your pc.
6. Once you see the pic as uploaded successfully, you will see an address underneath. Simply copy and paste the web address (http://www.yourpicture.com/image01.jpg) or similar, into the large rectangular box that says: "I have my own pic." Also, the little white box should be checked in order for the picture to work.
7. Then be sure and click the "save profile" box at the bottom of the page in order for your avatar to work.

No animals were harmed in the creation of this thread, although the poodle next door is living on borrowed time, let me tell you. Those of you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown will be gratified to learn that there is no hidden message revealed by reading this warning backwards, so just ignore that Alert Notice from Microsoft: However, by pouring a complete circle of salt around yourself and your computer you can ensure that no harm befalls you and your pets. If you have stumbled onto this website in error, please add some nutmeg and egg whites and place it in a warm oven for 40 minutes. Whisk briefly and let it stand for 2 hours before icing.
