This report is a bit unusual. We had to stay home instead of going H2 but since it felt like a vacation, Geri thought it was a good idea to write a trip report. (my job)
We worked everyday but went out most nights to our favorite local pubs for dinner. We also stayed up late every night talking and simply getting this chance sans kids was very welcome.
We ran out of time in regards to finishing our pictures displaying the new rings. I picked up "Ring Pops" at the candy store and had a photo shoot all planned. Some other time for my zany ideas.
The best day was Sunday, it started off sunbathing in our south facing living room for an hour then we left for an impromptu trip to Manhattan.
First stop (after ditching the car) was lunch at "GALLAGHER’S STEAK HOUSE" excellent steaks and draft Becks beer, it couldn't be better.
Afterward, we grabbed a cab and headed downtown to shop, it was freezing and windy but the sun was shining. One of the stores we ventured into was The Lauren Polo Shop. We thought it would be nice to pick up something but the prices were from "another planet". A pair of jeans licensed by Ralph Lauren from Levis were $1300. The jeans were duplicate styles from the 1960's. Shirts were expensive too.
While browsing frozen and wind blown we walked by a Spring Street nail saloon, Geri gets a brainstorm to get our nails done.
It was all very amusing and new to me, but I loved it. The saloon was full of women getting manicures, massages and whatever else you could do to pamper the human body.
We had manicures together and massages, SUPER treatment, it was a mini vacation in itself.
Later on we headed back uptown for more shopping, browsing and site seeing. We did feel a bit like tourist because we don't often get the chance to come get into the city.
We had dinner in a quiet and relaxing Irish pub called "Neary's" on 2nd. Ave. Highly recommended by a conciere at Trump Tower, this place is a good escape.
Overall it was a great week without the kids, I got a chance to play my music and unwind. Geri and I are looking forward to sending the the kids out again, soon!
It was a fine week for the both of us.......aahhhhhh!
