Just dope the kid and do everyone a favor. If benadryl makes you feel guilty, old fashioned dramamine works just as well. Your plane mates will thank you. I agree! If my friend's vet can give her mild tranquilizers to give to her pooch when she flies why can't an MD give a parent a safe dose of SOMETHING ... ANYTHING ... that might make the child's (and the parent's) travel experience a more sane and relaxed one? Pharmaceuticals are our friends!

I blame the parents. I have two nieces that moved to and grew up in Australia. They were 2 and 5 when they moved there in 1978. They flew back and forth to visit us in the US several times. They went to Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore and other long flights. I was with them many times during these trips. They were always behaved.
I never was allowed to embarrass my mother when I was young. You either teach discipline our you don't. Period.
I have friends that had children banned from my home until they could behave.
It's the God-damn lawyers and those made for TV movies. Kids threaten their parents these days with lawsuits and such. It's so wrong. Too many kids today would never survive a hardship in life. Mommy and/or Danny bail them out of ever spot, including school projects, paying for every trendy item, driving them EVERYWHERE.
Hell, I had to walk to school or take a bus. I had to earn my own spending money the day I turned 16. No one ever bought me a car or paid for school or anything else for that matter.
It teaches responsibility....the value of the dollar and what life is really about.
Misbehaving children on planes get no grief from me. However, I'm cruel to the parents.
