OK, since I'm likely the first one home from my new "home away from home", I'll start this one.
I had the distinct honor to be invited to the first "official" Hedo-II-son party down in Southern Arizona this weekend. I can't believe that I've missed this until now. Only 2 hours and 2 minutes from my door to their door lies one of the most kept secrets of the west. Hedo-II-son (we are all going to spell it differently we decided), is awesome!!!! A beautiful home build by Rick and now occupied by the infamous CherBunny and Rick, with sidekicks of Nemo and Mrs. Nemo in the background. They've all got this one down to a party science.
I will allow others to fill in the balance of the entire weekend, but let me say this. If you are ever invited to Hedo-II-son, GO!!!![/i], it's the most fun you'll have with your clothes off. It was something like Merlen Perkins (Wild Kingdom) meets Julia Child...with the wildlife just outside the doors a breathtaking experience (we didn't get to see Cher shoot any of our food though), and the cooking inside to die for. This morning, breakfast was fresh raspberry and blueberry pancakes, aparagus/shrimp/mushroom and cheese omelets, bacon, sausage and fresh ground Jamaican coffee. Hummmm....those pancakes were to die for Cher. Anyway, I know Jake will have some awesome pictures, and a much more complete trip report, but I just had to say really quick.....THANK YOU!! Thank you for giving me that little bit of paradise and serenity back that I always long for. Thank you for being part of my chosen family. Thank you for always loving me in spite of my faults.
See you all really soon......
with lots of love and gratitude,
diane

Diane, it's hard to believe you live so close and this was your first trip!! Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all. This line "It was something like Merlen Perkins (Wild Kingdom) meets Julia Child..." is priceless! I hope everyone writes a trip report and so all of can have a vicarious thrill. ;D Hugs to y'all who made my dreams more interesting last night. It was great to hear all of you having such a great time! I am going to keep trying to figure out how to make November work.

Well, I'm back home in Chicago, and this is NOT my official Hedo-II-son trip report, but it will come. Maybe not too fast, as I leave in the morning for yet another business trip. But, I just have to send a quick THANK YOU to Cherbunny and Rick for a wonderful time. Great food, pool, hot tub, drinks, sight-seeing, and of course LAUGHS and COMPANIONSHIP. And just about the most comfortable bed that my Honey Lamb and I have ever had the pleasure of sharing!
As well as the homestead, Cher and Rick showed us the Karchner Caverns (a "living cave" that is worth the airfare all by itself) and the historic town of Tombstone. But all of this will be covered in living color in a full trip report, coming soon to a message board near YOU!......Jake

My dearest friends.... The pleasure was all ours. We had the most awesome weekend ever. It's hard to explain, but once friends came thru the door, the entire hill took on a laid-back atmosphere. Anyway...I'm burnt out but euphoric. I learned a very valuable lesson this weekend...that Hedonites are the most loving, giving people alive. To have even one is a blessing; to have them coming out of the woodwork has left me humbled and speechless. We have been blessed with friends willing to spend valuable time and money to fly to the desert for a visit. But the one that took my breath away was the time, effort, and labor of love that went into this. Of course it was delivered before the party started I love you guys bunches and bunches....and it was a total pleasure to have you here. Hugs and Kisses~ Cher & Rick

Damn, you beat me to it, Cher! Anyway, here is a taste of the photos to come. The "gang" that we hung out with for the wonderful weekend. Are we a handsome bunch, or what?......Jake P.S. - notice the big, shit-eating grins being sported by all participants. Pictured, Left to Right: Nemo, Jake, Lynn (aka Mrs. Nemo or Tinsley), Hazelita, Cherbunny, Rick, Patty, Diane, Andre. For those of you who don't know Andre and Patty, they are another Arizona couple who had their virgin trip to Hedo this year, and are returning for their sophomore trip this December with WWWW.

It truly was the most awesome week-end ever. Nemo and I (Diane has now dubbed us "The Nemos") try to go as often as we can and I'm sure you all know why. Hedo II-son is only a little over an hour away. . . . remember that Diane! Bunny and Rick are always there with open arms to share their home, and the love, beauty, and tranquility that Hedo II-son has to offer. This trip was exceptional though because Jake, Hazel and Diane were all there to share in the beauty that surrounds you and the love of friendship. It was truly incredible. Renee, I wish you could have seen Cher's face when she showed me the beautiful flag you made (we had only just arrived and Cher, Hazel and Diane had just returned from the post office to pick it up). I know that it was truly a labor of love, but it was so worth it to see the joy it brought to Cher's face. OMG, it was truly incredible. You did such a beautiful job. Anyway, It was truly a wonderful week-end and Nemo and I really are feeling the effects of "DDF" ("dreaded desert fever" a very close cousin to DIF) as we sit here now. Thank you ONCE AGAIN for always sharing your hearts and your beautiful home with us. The Nemos

I vaguely remember that this was taken in the first 3 minutes of Saturday morning. It was the only time we all had clothes on . . . remember now? Great Picture Jake, thank you for sharing.

Some folks had fun coming up with potential Christmas Card material. For your viewing pleasure: Yes, that is a scorpion in the jar. The cat found it 5 days ago. We thought it was dead, but lo and behold it can party with the best of them.

Ya know Cher, I think we should have let that scorpion out of it's jar for that picture. It was entirely too stoned to escape far. For those that might be wondering, Cher has had personalized towels made up for all her guests and then we each get to personalize them ourselves, and return with the towels in hand (I figure that gets me at least one more invite back...so she can see my personalized towel). They are purple (although they show up kinda blue in this picture) and beautiful.
Above are all the ingredients of a wonderful weekend: The "official" Hedo II-scon flag, a towel (representing the pool and hot tub), a beer, a bud and a scorpion.
Lynn...thanks for that definition of DDF....I knew I woke up this morning with some kind of affliction, just wasn't sure what it was. Damn 5am was coming really early this morning.
Hugs to you all,
diane

If you are given a towel, it is your return ticket. Are you available Labor Day Weekend? Cher WOOOOHOOOOO.....that would be a resounding YES!!!! Am I invited back?? Guess I need to get the towel to the monogram shop TODAY, so it can be done....lol. It was only 2 hours and exactly 2 minutes door to door, so that isn't so bad for such a wonderful weekend. Cher....you might need to be careful, once the snow starts hitting back east this winter, you might have more guests that Hedo-II-son can handle. Might have to put some of those squirrels in the freezer to save for wintertime...lol. diane

Diane~
I know what you're saying. As of right now, we have space for some folks (ok, 9 people and 3 dogs) to stay here. The Sierra Vista contingent are looking at renting an RV for November and park it here.
We aren't ready for a full-blown invasion...yet. The guesthouse/pool bathroom/outdoor shower will be completed next year.
You are always invited, Diane. Like the folks that drive up from down south, 2 hours is really not that far away.
We can't wait to see you again!
Smoochers sweetie~ Cher

Yes do watch out for the Easterner's when the snow flies....we tend to love to drop in on (translation: invite ourselves to visit) folks that live in the *warm* weather. On the flip side, we do offer a cozy winter wonderland oasis for those not familiar with the magic of a VT winter. Liz

Diane~ If you are given a towel, it is your return ticket. Are you available Labor Day Weekend? Cher Bunny, Do Nemo and I need the formal invitation for Labor Day Week-end? Or are we still exempt and only required to call 1 hour ahead of time to make sure you are home?. . . .LOL. Nemo and I have a SERIOUS case of DDF and need something to look forward to, so are we invited too? We are "towel carrying," lifetime members, but it is always nice to ask. . . Love you Bunches, Mrs. Nemo
