Adjust for the age difference and there are some similarity in facial features...

My friend's wife used to date Sting many years ago, till her mother made her end it as she thought he was too old for her and would never make anything of himself She's never commented about a likeness... I do hope it's just the poor lighting in the picture!! Simon (who once felt someone tapping him on the shoulder in a bar and turned round to find Sting asking him to get out of his way)

Nice pictures of you and the girls Simon. It looks cold. We were on the Eye in September when we saw you. The view on a clear night is quite different. Looking down on Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament is a strange sensation.
I would mention that you step onto the Eye while it is moving.

The view on a clear night is quite different This was my second daytime 'flight.' Next time I would like to go at night, maybe in the summer this year perhaps. The Eye formed the centrepiece for the 2006/7 New Year's Eve firework display. I watched it live on TV and it was stunning. You can see it HERE. It's a 3 minute movie and worth watching all the way to the end. Simon

Great pics Simon and Sting has nothing on you!! (I'm not a Sting fan really, can you tell??) The girls are beautiful and I've been wondering what it looked like to ride the London Eye. I haven't been to London since it was built so I haven't gotten a ride yet - maybe next trip to see sis...
I have been watching it on all the New Year's celebrations since it was built and thinking it would be great it be IN it for a spectacular view of all the fireworks on the River - the ones in London impress me every year! Do they do that for the fireworks or is it closed?
In the alternative it would be great to see it at night like you say. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed all your pics.

I don't think it was turning on NYE so it was probably closed.
Yes you must try to make it into London and take a 'flight' on the Eye on your next trip over. It would be great to meet up with you if we can arrange it.

Great Pictures. Your girls are so grown up and pretty. It is not a secret as to where their good looks come from! Sting? ya think? Maybe a bit from afar, but not up close. You make sting wish he looked as good. Looks like a wonderful time, I will have to add that to my "to do " list in the very near future.

Fabulous shots! Your little ladies, are just priceless, and a couple of real cuties like their dad! That is one impressive piece of metal, that think I will admire from afar. The view is wonderful, and I'm glad I can see it through your eyes because mine won't go anywhere near something that high.

I'm usualy terrible with heights, I can't even make it more than 6 or so rungs up a ladder, but I'm fine if I'm in an enclosed space, like the London Eye or a glass evavator, or feel secure, like at the top of the Empire State Building. Put me within 20 feet of a clifftop though and I just want to throw myself to the ground and hold on for dear life!!

Heh, i have what i describe as the "gonzo effect". i get near an edge and i start getting the impulse to jump. "i wanna plummet! i wanna plummet!" which is all very well and good when you are repelling or skydiving, but not so good otherwise.

Put me within 20 feet of a clifftop though and I just want to throw myself to the ground and hold on for dear life!! Simon I've got to admit that I'm pretty much the same way Simon. I only discovered it when I went to see the Grand Canyon 2 years ago. The guide walked right out on a cliff (I was fine as long as I was "inside" the railing but there are un-railed portions) where there was no rail and a lot of our group followed him. I started having a very BAD panic attack and could not bring myself any where near to where all the others were. I tried but I just envisioned myself (being the klutz that I am anyway) tripping over one of the uneven cracks or rocks and falling to my death in the FAR below canyon. It was awful. I was there with my girlfriend so I didn't even have a guy to hold on to and calm my nerves a bit. It surprised me that I had that kind of reaction too! Colleen
