I spent the last 4 days visiting my parents in Lake Worth Florida. It's been years since I was in south Florida and I had forgotten how beautiful it is. Nice beaches complimented by shops, restaurants and residential areas line the coast in Palm Beach County. It was enjoyable to see my parents on permanent vacation, so relaxed and finally with a wide open schedule. Saturday we went to the Green Cay Nature Center which features a walkway through wetlands. A nice place to get in touch with nature. www.pbcgov.com/parks/nature/green_cay_nature_center/ Here's a couple of pictures I took of some newly hatched alligators. Friday, we went to the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach and took a guided tour of the Flaglers beach house. If you're ever in this area, it's is a must see. Henry Flagler was one of the original industrialist of American oil and railroads. flaglermuseum.us/html/whitehall.htmlWebsite photo of the homes entry.

I also had my first "guy on beast" sex while on vacation. Although scaly and rough skinned, she was kinda cute and not nearly as grouchy as she looks. We had a good ol' sexy time and it was everything I thought it would be, although a manicure and pedicure would be a pleasant improvement.

I was able to snap this photo of a "Grey Heron". The bird is beautiful, moves gracefully and is silent while hunting for small fish. It tasted good with both teriyaki sauce and cranberry orange sauce. I left orange slices on the bird while cooking but you don't have to.

Gordon, there's a local plant nursery here (in NY) that's high end and so much fun to walk through. Anyway, they sell lots of aquatic supplies including duckweed, a small bag is expensive so it was funny to see a square mile of it in a marsh over the weekend.

Sounds like a business opportunity there Gary. The local Indian tribes here in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, have exclusive rights to harvest the wild rice found around here (the good stuff is >$30/lb, the cheap stuff $10/lb). IF YOU HURRY, you might be able to lock up the harvest rights and control that WILD DUCKWEED market. Remember the key is to control supply to maximize profits, AND MARKET that this is the real, wild stuff, NOT that domesticated, grown in a nursery crap.

It's a good time of year to visit family in Florida. Be sure to keep in touch with the gator, lest she feel cheap.
Duckweed is considered a nuisance here and might net you a big fine or even a jail sentence here if you intentionally introduced it to a public waterway.

Yeah, but Tex, thats the beauty of this.. if there is a market for it, it would be a harvesting operation.

ummm Joe, you wouldn't happen to have a toothpick would you? Besides, I couldn't waste an open bottle of Clos. A nice bottle of Clos Du Bois Pinot Grigio would be nice. By the way we will be their exclusive supplier of Pinot Grigio grapes starting in 2009 from Sonoma County. About 150 to 200 tons per year.

Congratulation's Joe, that's great news and I'm looking toward being a consumer! My first thought is, I'm wondering if these are the grapes for the newly expended area acquired from about 7-8 months ago?

Hell, I'll buy a couple of bottles. We already have several bottles of Clos Du Bois Merlot around here and it is quite good.

My first thought is, I'm wondering if these are the grapes for the newly expended area acquired from about 7-8 months ago? No. It will be from 20 acres of our Merlot Vineyards that we are T-budding over to Pinot Grigio this coming spring. The new Acreage that will planted in May is going to be Chardonnay also to be sold to Clos Du Bois. Joe.

Be sure to keep in touch with the gator, lest she feel cheap. It's OK, as it was purely physical, she was a go with flow person...I mean lizard...she made no demands except she wasn't into leather (crocodile wallets, shoes and such turn her off) and she agreed not to clamp down on my head and drag me into deep water.

Check out the Flagler Museum on one of your days off F.P. An absolutely stunning and romantic piece of American gilded age history.
The Green Cay Nature Center is a nice day trip as well.
