During our wedding reception way back when, a long time friend of my family came up to me and gave me a note. She said "don't read it now but wait until you get to St. Martin." (Our honeymoon destination) Four days in to our trip, I found the note, it simply gave instructions on how to get to a very remote beach.
Geri and I ventured out and after some climbing, negotiating ocean waves and even a small rope bridge, we came upon a nude beach.
We were 24 years old at the time and I was taken back at the discovery of 30 or so naked people. My wife loved it instantly but it took me 4 Heinekens to take my suit off.
(some locals were selling Heineken from a cliff edge, you would put your money in a basket and they would pull the basket up and return it back down with the beer)
We returned everyday for the remainder of our trip to this beach, it was a gorgeous place. We bought these 2 water color paintings from a local craftsmen which I just happen to rediscover while unpacking from our move 2 years ago.
Our next nude trip was many years later to H2. FYI, the food on the French side of St. Martin was high end gourmet and absolutely fabulous! At the time (1986) dinner reservations were mostly done by walkie talkie. Phone use was limited on the whole island.
