November 29 – December 10, 2005 trip report same as on Denny's. Too lazy to write another....
-----------------
Just a warning – this will not be the usual Hedo trip report.
This was a year of ch-ch-change for us – the death of my father, moving to another state and a new job for me.
In the states, sometimes if feels as though we are going through the motions of day-to-day drudgery: work, groceries, etc. just to rush home to spend time together. This is something that we had not had a chance to do for many years because of my old work.
Hedo used to be about sending this time together reconnecting. However, we were very connected before we left, having spent almost as much time together in the last 3 ½ months as we had in 3 ½ years. This trip, we stepped back – almost to become totally unconnected so we could both learn what we love about us and about Hedo. To me, to us, this trip was more like rediscovery and learning that we are so lucky to have found each other to spend our lives with.
As many of you know, this was a difficult vacation for us because Steve was sick for the entire time with various ailments. This trip was very different for us in a lot of ways, yet the people always make it . Because Steve was sick, it almost felt as though I was at Hedo by myself but our friends made me never feel alone. Our Hedo friends gave us grounding. With Hedo friends, there is no stifled, uncomfortable conversations. We saw people that we have not seen in a year, two years or months yet the moment that you say hi, it is like no time has passed at all. And the new friends we met made us feel as though we knew them forever.
As always, I never mention names in my trip reports but you know who you are. Thank you to all our Hedo friends and I hope we will see you next year.
XXOO,
Sabrina and Steve

It's funny how each trip can be so different from others. I had a great trip this time, did more diving than ever before. Hopefully will be done with our trip report soon.
Thanks Sabrina

Sabrina, I read your trip report over at DennyP's. It's wonderful. Thanks for posting it here, too. Gary, look forward to reading yours when you're done writing it. I dunno why, but I'm just not into writing trip reports any more. I've written at least a dozen, if not more, trip reports about my visits to Hedo. They all sound the same to me. Last year was my first trip to Hedo with Jake and I didn't write one. This year we had another wonderful, romantic time together. Of course, these last two trips were the best ever since I was with someone I'm crazy in love with yet I'm still not inspired to write anything. The creative juices just ain't flowing. Hopefully this is just a temporary setback.

I posted our trip report on Denny's site and like Sabrina I am too lazy to write a second one just for here so I will just copy it.....
Patty & Rupe – December 2nd - December 10th -Wet, Wild & Wicked Nov 29th – Dec 2nd Firefly
When we left for the airport it was about 58 degrees out when we returned it was about 15 degrees and there were a few snow pile leftovers. What a difference a few days make.
What we did for our vacation or better yet… how we celebrated Elaine’s birthday all week!
In the past we have stayed at Hedo for a minimum of 10 days and we do this twice a year, in the spring and then with the WWW group. Since they are no longer offering the incentive for “stay 14 get 3 free” we decided to try something different. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment at Firefly to share with Bernie & Elaine for our first 3 nights. It is a small resort, accommodations for around 60 people I would guess. It has the only other nude beach that we know of in Negril. Since it was off season the place was not full so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The red stripe was cold and the service wonderful. The vendors walk up & down the beach all day offering food, drink, cigarettes, cigars, jet ski, boat ride, parasail (special today, naked ladies go free) you name it they offer to get it. Some of the other dinner places on the stripe also send hawkers to tell of the nightly specials, live music, and 2 for 1 dinner, whatever. We did buy the meat patties from the guy with the bike with the broken chain, they were awesome, and we should have gotten more. (He uses the bike to carry the hot meat patties in the box on the front and some kind of frozen ice out of the box on the back) We saw the same vendors a couple of times a day and we just kept telling them we were the lazy people on the beach, we were doing NOTHING except drinking red stripe. (Bernie & Rupe think they kept asking us since we were on the only nude part of the beach, not that they thought we would really ch-ch-change our mind.) The beach and water at Firefly are beautiful white sandy, no rocks. We were total sand slugs for the time we were there. The menu is limited at Firefly and only available for breakfast and lunch but there are plenty of other places close by. We enjoyed jerk chicken pizza from a place two sites up one night. We did venture down the beach for dinner one night and to celebrate Elaine’s birthday. I think it was the only time since we had landed in Mobay that Rupe put anything other than a towel on until it was time to go back to Mobay to head home. Keith, sorry I missed you arriving in a towel off the bus but I think Rupe still has you beat he arrived in the Hedo lobby in his towel too.
We got a cab to deliver us to Hedo on Friday morning in time for Charlie’s’ omelets. As we walked into the main lobby we were greeted by the wonderful Magonna (customer service) and she said to give her a little bit of time to get our keys for us. We headed into the dinning room we were greeted by some familiar faces from the WWW group. By the time we said our hello’s to our many Hedo family friends and ate Magonna found us with keys to our room. We ended up in room 2158, garden nude, by the staircase in front of the spa. It was clean and ready for us. The only problem with this room and some others with the new showers is the shower doors are not caulked properly so they leak and cause a flood in the bathroom. The other problem we had was the stairs outside our room had some loose nails that squeaked and the handrail was not tight so it rattled whenever someone used this staircase. First thing in the morning or in the middle of the night it seemed extra loud. We told maintenance about it and they looked but did not fix it. The maid heard us talking (through our bathroom vent) about it still being loud the next morning and made sure it got fixed right away. First stop when we got our room was to dump our things go to the prude bar to say hello to Paulette and get one of her spicy bloodymarys'. From there it was down towards Delroys, stopping to say hello to Karl and the dive shack crew grab some beach towels and then further down the beach to more friends. We were home!
The very best thing about www for us is being with all our friends, from previous years and new ones we made this year. We are truly blessed to have friends like these. Elaine & Bernie, thank you for joining us at Firefly and allowing us join you in the "Elaine-a-thon" birthday celebration. Jim & Leesa, it was so awesome to see you again after so many years! Jerry & Edie, we still like the way you think! Partymon and crew (too many to name) that put so much into the Magical Mystery Bash. Some of you give up many hours of your vacation to make this all come true and we appreciate it. Ian & Angela’s wedding, we wish you the best for many years to come. To all my “protectors” when Mario was too near for my comfort zone. I wonder if we will get to see his wedding photos. It was great to meet face to face with friends from various message boards. Sometimes the person you chat with in the chat room or on a message board is so different than the real person it can be disappointing but no so in the case of the www folks. My only regret is I did not get to meet everyone on the registration list, or at least get to put all the names & faces together. Tammy & Mike it was great to meet you, I think you will be back. Stacey & Keith it was so good to see you after so many years. I missed seeing some our regular cast, TexJohn & Nancy, (no one gives kisses like TexJohn) DJ & Bruce (Rupe had no one to pick on DJ) Lance & Michelle (I did see you hanging around but you were not real talkative this trip) T.Wayne & Thea and Danimal…. Where are you? We missed you. This trip had a lot of firsts for me. It was the first year I did not play volleyball, use the water slide or just go float in the lagoon (are they sure that alligator was a once in a lifetime thing?) This was the first year I assisted with stocking stuffing. It is a lot harder than you would think especially doing it in a small space. This was the first time I went to the erotic gift exchange just to observe and laugh with everyone. (I ran out of time pre trip to participate) This is the first time I did not get to Pastafari’s for dinner even once. This was also the first time I did not have a watch with me. I just was there enjoying being me and my time with my friends and my spouse. A few minutes conversation here and there never seemed long enough.
We are often asked about the accommodations and if that is why we keep going back to the same place every December for vacation. We tell them that it is not the food, nor the rooms that keep us going back it is the friends that met last time and the new friends we will meet this time. “HEDO, IT’S A PEOPLE PLACE”
Patty & Rupe
