I guess I got spanked for basically calling PNK513 an asshole (in a very nice way). I wrote Denny an email telling him I was just tired of people being shitty with no repercussions. Denny was very nice in his reply to me. I hold no grudges.

No one is questioning the fact that these people got sick. I am just saying that "runny noses, itchy-watery eyes, coughing, sneezing, and throat irritation(your words)" are symptoms attributed to many many many different illnesses.
I do not doubt that people are getting sick do to Mold. I am just trying to point out that there are many more things that will make you sick besides Mold.
And yes, when I wrote this I was just trying to have some fun.
Thanks Happycooter

Mold can make you sick...other things can make you sick BUT the mold needed to be gone and I for one am thankful to the people who exposed the problem...because of them I was able to enjoy our time there over Christmas in a mold free room which I otherwise might not have gotten had I not brought the matter to Kevin's attention prior to our trip. The cost of obtaining this "information" was not cheap. However, given the (2) Hospital visits, the lost week of work, the laboratory testing endured, not to mention the basket full of meds I was forced to take after my "VACATION" made it a necessity.
I LOVED going to Hedo. So much so that 11 visits were racked up in a 3.5 year time span... JUST TO H3...
The undeniable proof that my illness was somehow directly related to HEDO3 came when my Medical records were compared side by side to my previous travel dates to none of other than HEDO3. I had been to "other resorts" in Jamaica, I had been to Cancun, and upon returning from those trips, NO ILLNESS...
Not only did I become alarmed at these findings, so did people in places/positions to do something about it...
It required me to "fess up" to where I had been going for vacations, and it required me to undergo a series of "drug tests."
NO, I don't smoke ganja, nor do I consume any other illegal substances. It was necessary to do a "Rule Out" of other possible contaminants.
I do not have sex with others at Hedo, I save my gambling for Vegas I do not party any harder at Hedo than I did on other vacations.
I am NOT a "COMPLAINER" I simply had evidence that a problem existed, and I chose to do something about it, rather than just BI+CH. Yes, we could have all kept our mouths shut upon our return, (some reading this would like for us to do so now) but because we all want to be able to go back, we have to make them clean the place up. May is quickly approaching, and many of our friends will be there, and some of us might not be able to go, simply because of the "MOLD" (there, I said it)
In December, 2005 I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Hedo2. During my week there, I partied just as hard, maybe harder than I did at Hedo3 the previous October, (2 months earlier) because I WASN'T SICK!!!! I myself, was even shocked that I never had the slightest sign of a sniffle, sneeze, cough, or scratchy throat. Yes, I realize what I did was risky at best, however, upon really listening to the people in those places/positions that I referred to earlier, and taking the time to get "prepared" in the event of S/S returning, I was able to have an awesome vacation.
In summary, Hedo 3 can be the fabulous vacation for everyone again that it used to be, as soon as they accept that the fact that nothing short of a complete clean-up is mandatory just like Hedo2 has undergone in the recent past...
After reading this board, and the many many postings regarding the "clean up" I was relatively certain that I might actually be able to return in May06 with friends... And not risk my health in doing so. Unfortunately I have very recently become aware that "MOLD" is still a problem in some of the rooms, and indeed people have returned "ILL" as recently as 2 weeks ago. These people are not just "complainers" they are friends, and I have to trust their observations and experiences over the mere observations of a first time guest who has a sense of humor, and has finally found Hedo, and wants to believe that all is well in his new found Paradise. An attitude like that is DANGEROUS to the very Health and Well being that "I" was trying to protect. I know that the monies I spent to prove that "MOLD" is the REASON for my illness, and the illnesses of many of my friends was NOT spent in vain, regardless of the arrogant, humorous, and egotistical attitudes of others.

We have come home too with normal colds, which I am sure is due to the partying and "friendly hugs". I even came home with whooping cough after the NYE trip thanks to one guest who we got too close to.
I don't think anyone doubts that some have gotten sick from the mold and some have gotten sick from other things!
Regardless if the mold was making people sick it still should have been cleaned up. Who wants to sleep in a room they paid over $300 a night for that has black crud on the walls or a strange smell coming from behind the bed? Who wants to lay by the pool and look up at the white and yellow building covered with black dots? While Hedo is no 4 or 5 star hotel (well I think some sites consider it a 4 star) it should still live up to its price tag!
We have seen for ourselves all the cleaning and renovations that have been going on over the last few months. The only buildings left to get the outside painted is 5, 7, & 8, the other 6 buildings look GREAT! We experienced the dreaded mold illness in Aug 05, we have been back 3 times since and each time our room (different location each time) always smelled VERY clean, looked VERY clean, and other than whooping cough and complete utter exhaustion no sore throat or runny nose! We also were with a group during both of the last 2 trips and as far as I know no one in our groups got the Hedo crud!
Simon and Sassy, I hope you go back in May and see for yourself that they really have cleaned things up! I think you will be pleasantly surprised! I know I was! Posts: 353 | From: Boston | Registered: Dec 2004 | IP: Logged | Report this post to a Moderator

We had to move out of a agriculture area due to mold that was causing lung damage in our son who was a year and a half old. Unfortunately, he had a sensitivity to it. We were not bothered by it nor were other kids in the area. I think this is a prime example of what can happen health wise. We saw mold in the room. My husband came back sick...whether it was from mold or from a "normal" virus I can't say. He has asthma and is more sensitive to airborne "stuff" than I am.
My question in all of this is why do people take it so personal when someone writes a post that there was a problem with their room, food, service, etc.? Isn't that what this board is for? Isn't everybody's opinion or thoughts valuable? Why should someone be told that basically if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. It seems like people are not very respectful or considerate of others views, beliefs, or thoughts on this board. Especially the people that like call others "complainers".

I will guess that your post is a shot at me. Please read all my posts thouroughly. I did say some of the things you have written. I HAVE NEVER SAID THE MOLD WASN'T THERE OR NOT A CAUSE OF PEOPLE GETTING ILL.
I tried and I am still trying to say:
Mold is not the be all, end all of illnesses down in Hedo. There are many many reasons for people becoming ill. Just because people see it, or speak about it, doesn't mean it is the only reason people are getting sick.
