When my Mom was here for the wedding, she suggested that we take a trip and get away as I needed a vacation. Thanks to Caravan Tours we had a wonderful time. Here's a few pics: Lake Atitlan with the volcanoes. Mayan ruins in Copan, Honduras. The Ball Court and stellas at Copan. Scarlet Macaws in the jungle. Replica of the Grand Temple Jaguar as it looked (Copan). Temple III at Tikal. The Square in Tikal. Ball Court and Temple III. Coati Sunset at Petenchel Villa Maya, Tikal area Fog from the Carribean Sea. Stella from Quirigua. These were carved from sandstone in 800 AD. They tell the story of the life of Cuauc Sky and his defeat of 18 Rabbit, another Mayan Ruler. A street in Antigua. I wish Rick could have been there. It was such a wonderful (and cheap) trip, that I would go back in a heartbeat whenever he wants to go. We still need to check out the Aztecs... Cher edited for a typo.

Awsome! How lucky for you to have the time and resources to travel that this. It took time, to make the time, to do this. I had to do some serious cooking and freezing of leftovers to ensure that Rick would survive without me. As for the resources...well, at $100 a day for everything, it was affordable.

Welcome home Cher! Gorgeous photos! My fav is the Coati, they look like small dinosaurs! (or is just my imagination?) The ruins are magnificent. I can't wait to hear about your adventures.

Great pictures! What's that in the upper left-hand corner of the picture of the Grand Temple Jaguar replica? Is it located inside a larger (modern) structure?

Great pictures! What's that in the upper left-hand corner of the picture of the Grand Temple Jaguar replica? Is it located inside a larger (modern) structure? Yes. There was a museum that had some of the original carvings. In the center they built a replica of the temple and painted it the way it would have looked when the place was inhabited.

Great pics Cher! When I was a kid a neighbor actually had a Coati (they called it a Coati Mundi). Can't for the life of me remember it's name, but I do remember it loved to stick it's long wet nose in your ear! I had no idea at the time what I was being exposed to, but I sure loved it. How cute it was eating a banana using it's hands like nothing I had ever seen.(I lived in the suburbs of Richmond and wildlife was the occasional fenced in horse)
