We took a short trip 'home' for Art's birthday over St. Patrick's weekend. A 5 day'er. I won these days on a web-site contest with Go Classy Tours. Kat and Doc joined us for 4 days. We had perfect weather and a great time.
Doc, Kat and I were honored to be invited to a barbecue at the Issa (SuperClubs owner) villa down the road. (Art was in Bloody Bay) It's an annual event sponsored for and by the bartending staff for all the bartenders families and select other staff member. It was so cool. We got to meet the spouses and kids of so many old time friends at Hedo. Then we went to Rick's for sunset. I haven't been there since 1989!
Art made some progress on a fishing boat, however that didn't happen yet. Soon come mon. His buddy found the auction place where the government sells confiscated goods like boats used to smuggle drugs. How ironic! So, Art hopes to find a deal at the auction when we go in April. Only 13 days to go! I must say it's much easier to leave Hedo when you know you will be back in 3 weeks.
I met UPSMAN there. What a stitch he is. Just loved him. Also ran into Ross from New York (a train conductor), a single guy that I've known since the early 90's that is usually there the week after Thanksgiving. We were both surprised to see each other. Additionally, I saw two couples that are usually there during ButtCrack that couldn't make it and went early. It only proves that you will likely always meet someone you've met before at Hedo no matter when you go.
I got to try out my new slut dresses on strangers plus I know Kat would tell me if I looked like a sausage in one. Although I've lost 40 pounds, I'm by no means thin.
We got home Monday night at 10pm. Art learned the day before we left that he would have to leave Tuesday for Alabama to work for a week to oversee the installation of a machine that makes roofing shingles.
I had to lecture at a class till 8pm Tuesday the next day.... have a pedicure, manicure Wednesday and Thursday I had to fast all day for a colonoscopy (spelling?) scheduled Friday morning. No problems, just my first screening.
It has been a busy couple of weeks and it took me all day yesterday to catch up here.
Love you guys.
