brief and to point: expressed with brevity and clarity, with no wasted words
I was exalted twice today for succinctly expressing my opinion in response to a question from Tex as opposed to my usual blabbering.

Succinctness always deserves an exalt. Or, as Shakespeare said "brevity is the soul of wit." Or as my old Pappy used to say: "I didn't have time to write you a short letter, so I wrote you this long one.".......Jake
(Come to think of it, Pappy's quote could be an oxymoronic!)

I am the man who put the "suc" in "succinct".

Mark Twain was the one who your pappy stole from... "Sorry I didn't have time to make this shorter."

"Sorry I didn't have time to make this shorter." Ain't that the truth!! Editing for brevity takes a damn long time. Like when I'm writing a therapeutic tirade. I spew on and on and on and on ... well, you get my drift. But if I ever decide to unleash my self-therapy on the world I go back and chop, chop, chop away at all the stuff that will make me sound like a shrew. Presenting a cool, calm, and collected demeanor is very time-consuming. Sometimes it just takes too long and I can't be bothered ... so I keep the tirade all to myself. H. P.S. -- I edited this post for more than five minutes before hitting the Post Reply button. See, I know what I'm talkin' about!
