Deb asked for a forum on literary pursuits, and I thought it was a fine idea. What kind of books do youse guys read? You CAN read, right?
Do you prefer classis or current best sellers? Fiction or non? Paperbacks or hardcovers? Potboilers or scholarly tomes?
I expect some good discussions here, and it DOES NOT have to be about JRR Tolkien! (but it COULD be)......Jake

Bob, that hateful post would get you BANNED from any decent message board in the world. But here, it only gets you a chuckle, and maybe a Karma point. And a positive point for greeneyes, too, of course.......Jake

I love to discuss books, but haven't heard of any book clubs that I would fit into. I had high hopes for this board, there are many intelligent well spoken (sometimes in lingo) people here, who one would think were well read. I had hoped that we could discourse on the nasty undertones of many novels, that your normal bookclub would gloss over. My pussy is a bit lonlier now than it had been, but it isnever sad! And wait 'till you see what I said on the other threads!!!

Don't give up, Greeneyes. There are lots of well read folks here (not ME of course, but others) who will probably respond to your thought-provoking threads.....Jake

Welcome, Mark Sinclair! Glad to have you aboard. What are some of your favorite books?
My own favorites: Tolkien, Jack Vance, John Norman, Ayn Rand, and Isaac Asimov. Yes, I realize those are authors and not books, but that's the way I think of them.
