How many times a day do you hear that worn out cliche from the babbling class on television? Other hackneyed terms and idioms that have come and gone in recent years are: juxtaposition, vis-a-vis, oxymoron. There are more that I can't think of today, but you would think that folks who get paid to talk would invest in one of Mr. Roget's books and try to come up with something original.

Which just goes to show Jake that when push comes to shove you can't keep a good cliche down.

Hazelita, it is a cliche used for gamblers. One of the counter-top folks at the Broadway Cafe where I eat breakfast has the nickname stick and stay. He is one of the best handicappers for horses I have ever seen. Picks daily double wins 60% of the time. He has a problem though. Every time he goes to the track he gets pissed up on gin and always switches his bets. I also applied that cliche to a LTR I have been in and hit the jackpot by sticking and staying. Our relationship has been fantastic and smooth sailing. I like cliches and meaningfull statements. My all time favorite is...... "To Thine Own Self Be True"....Shakesphere. oooops.... Lets not forget "young, dumb and full of ,uh, ... rum" heheheh

I like J. Paul Getty's:
Get up early, work hard, and find oil.

I like J. Paul Getty's: Get up early, work hard, and find oil. NO "If at first you don't succeed. redefine success" for JP Getty

My favorite saying is, "Pound it once you've found it".
I don't remember if that came from General Patton or some hooker I used to get with. Probably the hooker.
