There have been many posts on Denny's site over the years where folks inquired about the local "drug" scene in Jamaica. I often relate an experience where someone offered us "something" saying, "Drink this mon! YOU see Jesus!" I've told folks to really REALLY think whether they want to see Jesus while they are in Jamaica! I've implied that you should avoid the drugs.....they could be BAD!!! I SAW JESUS today in Clearwater, FL and it WASN'T A PERWTY SITE!! Astute folks will notice a late night post last night by me....I couldn't sleep due to some arthritis acting up in my foot. This AM I called my doctor (yes even us DOCS have others prescribe drugs, etc.) and got a prescription for Indocin, a very common arthritis drug. About 1 hour after taking it, I began a trip that took me beyond PLUTO into the outerreaches of the solar system......IT'S COLD THERE! Barely able to put forth a coherent sentence, I called Rhonda's office and had them page her emergently and call home. I didn't go into work 'cuz I couldn't freekin' walk!! Before Rhonda could call back, and with the damn pussy-cat and dog seein' I was a wee bit on the psychotic side, I called 911 and had an ambulance take me to the ER. For the technogeeks, I was having a dystonic/dysmorphic reaction to Indocin. For those who go to Hedo, I was trippin' on a REALLY BAD DRUG REACTION like you might have there with those illegal drugs. I thought I was gonna flip out at any moment! After getting some IV benadryl, within seconds I was better and nearly back to my normal grumpy self. It's one thing to have some pain in your foot. It's quite another to have your mind come unglued where you can't control your thoughts........what an interesting experience! I still recommend staying away from the drugs in Jamaica! But DAMN!! I didn't even smoke the stuff!! ;D

Just kidding, glad you are doing better, sounds like you had a interesting day.

Wow, Bob. Sorry you had such an "interesting", not to mention unpleasant, experience. I hope things are getting back to normal. This message board would be so boring if you were to croak!.....Jake

Whoa! Glad you had the presence to take care of the situation. That had to be scary as hell.... Maybe that why our doc makes us comein for an appointment before prescribing something.....and here I thought it was just to charge an appointment fee. ;D How was Rhonda...beside scared?

Gotta echo what Jake said. The board is too new to be losing members already!
Glad you are doing better.

Bob Welcome back... At least you had enough of a grip on reality to recognize that something was wrong. Good Call !! Ya know, Gordon, that was the weird thing. I *KNEW* I was having a bad drug reaction......knew what to tell the EMS folks even. But even that "logical" part of me couldn't keep up with the part of my brain that was telling me, "You're gonna DIE!!" There is a lot we don't know about the brain. I found out more than I ever want to know about what happens when your brain shorts itself out. Having a bit'o pain in my ankle is one thing. Having my brain go completely kafooee was something else indeed!! Thank GOD for benadryl!! ;D .............Bob (completely back to his grumpy self!)

Thank GOD for benadryl!! .............Bob (completely back to his grumpy self!) Ok Bob. Now that we know you're OK.......... There is one minor question that is just begging to be asked. Doesn't a doctor have benadryl at home just in case something like this should ever happen?

LMAO! ;D Probably not the kind you can mainline....I expect is the answer. If I had the choice (and I do because I DO have Benadryl on hand in case of such an event), I would much rather have some ORAL Benadryl NOW instead of waiting for some mainlined Benadryl down the road.

Oh I GOT some now!!! I left the hospital with a grab-bag of IV benadryl, needles and everything to put in my own IV. As I was leaving, an ER nurse brought me a big BROWN BAG to put the stuff in. It might look funny walking out with all that stuff. I actually left with an IV still in my arm, just in case I needed to inject some more benadryl later that night. Too bad I'm not a mainliner drug addict. I would have been set for several days!! ;D All is better now! ............Bob

Hey, RumAndCoke, welcome to the board! Glad to have you on line. One question though: do we know you? Like maybe from the "other" board? Don't recognize your name is all. You're welcome here regardless and I look forward to your future posts, but I'm just curious......Jake

I caught Bob's post the other day that included a link to this site. Must say, the post didn't last long over there. I went back an hour later and it had been removed. I don't know how long it lasted. Denny sure pulled that post quickly. I was wondering how long it would take him. He didn't dissapoint. Strange seeing as how these boards are so different. I can't imagine Denny fearing Jake's board will impact his business. I can thus only conclude he just has "issues." So be it. Welcome aboard, RumandCoke! May you live long and perspire! (stolen from Jake, of course!) ............Bob

I can thus only conclude he just has "issues." So be it. Golly Gee ... what makes you think that? Methinks his "issues" are not with Jake's board being promoted on his site. Methinks his "issues" are personal, m'dear. And it seems *you* are his favorite target at the moment. Now, what did you do to get the man all riled up?

Could it have been the "aka" portion of the post referencing the banned username? That shows up in all my posts over there. So I'd say no. Must be something else. ............Bob
