Hate to rub it in on you folks up north, but it will be 80 degrees this afternoon and I had to mow this weekend. The jasmine, camelias, and tulip trees are in bloom and the redbuds, dogwoods, wisteria and azaleas are on the way. We will have a little more cold weather but winter is on the way out.

Well as soon as this storm clears here today, the weather is going to straighten out. While looking in the vineyard this morning I noticed that since Friday the buds on the vines are starting to swell. That means an early season, so starting tomorrow we need to get our frost protection systems going. Looks like we will need them by next week. That mean getting up in the middle of the night .......oh well it's only last for about 6 weeks. Any way winter's cold wet ass is on the way out of here to. Glad to see it go. ;D So Tex we are right behing you!! ;D Joe.

Aww, phooeey! Winter is still coming on strong here in the Northeast. We had a blizzard last night that dumped 5" of snow on us. This morning we had rain wich turned all the fluffy stuff into a slushy mess. I can't stand it anymore!

Sorry, but that only qualifies as flurries. We are 5.5" short of 200" for the winter ... maybe tomorrow, with 40" on the ground.
THE GOOD NEWS... highs are going to stay in the 20's all week!!!
THAT DAMN Puxatawny Pucker promised only 6 more weeks of winter, damn him... If I see him on my lawn this summer I WILL mow his hide!
Tex... enjoy... by the time we get your 80's you will be indoors for the summer.

Tex... enjoy... by the time we get your 80's you will be indoors for the summer. Gordon Believe it or not, the 90-100 degree heat is comfortable to me, it all depends what you are used to. Cold weather is misery to me. BTW, it was supposed to rain here but it's another 80 degree sunny day.

What a GREAT time of the year this is!
We have highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. You can't beat it with a hammer!
The GOOD thing is we leave the door, which opens to the pool from our bedroom, open each night. I just LOVE the cool breeze!
The BAD thing is the F*CKING neighbor is "boarding" 3 f*cking ROOSTERS that F*CKING COCK A DOODLE DOO at 4 F*CKING O'CLOCK AM waking my ASS up and sending our little weiner dog outside BARKING her ass off at this F*CKING ROOSTER all the while Rhonda and I are trying to sleep!
I'm looking for a good laser sight for a rifle. Anyone know of a good web site where I can find one?
Another neighbor had an idea for a BAR-b-Q, and asking our "friend" with the COCK F*CKIN' CHICKEN to bring a chicken to cook.......
I'm thinking just BLOW the F*CKING COCK AWAY!!
AM I WRONG? <chuckle>
..........Bob (waitin' answers to keep my peace with the neighbors!)

You can kill two birds with one stone: Make jerk chickens out of the chickens, then have a party and stay up til 3 or 4. Sleep as late as you like because the damned chickens will be gone. A hen or capon makes better eating than a rooster, but you can't get too picky.

I'm not sure how to handle a crowing rooster, but there's an old standard cure for a barking neighbor's dog. You get an old Coke bottle and a mortar and pestle, and grind up the bottle nice and fine. Then you blend it in with a pound of ground beef, and toss it over the fence. The dog eats it, and pretty soon.... the neighborhood is silent again!
You just have to figure out what the cock likes to eat, and start grinding that bottle.....Jake

Now if only you could bring in a 'guest' chef, the evening would be complete.... Ahhhhh the bliss.
