It brings a big smile to my face every time I read the phrase "former President Obama" in some news article.

Okay, a month has passed. Trump is still President. He was NOT my first choice (or second, or third, or fourth....) but I am glad he beat Hillary. And so far, he is breaking all records at FULFILLING CAMPAIGN PROMISES! I don't think I've seen campaign promises fulfilled at this rate in my lifetime. You go, Trump!!!!!

Not sure what to make of this Obamacare replacement. Not that I expected the Republicans to replace it with what I want (a free market solution), but they seem to be bumble-fucking on trying to replace it with something that is both Republican Friendly and at the same time not horrible. Good luck with that! Dumb asses.

Now they are starting to talk sense. I've been saying for many years that there are two things we need to make free-market health care viable:
1. Tort reform. If doctors and hospitals don't need to worry about covering their asses against humongous malpractice awards, they can stop ordering unnecessary tests, and can stop raising prices to pay for outrages insurance premiums. That will translate to huge savings for patients.
2. Insurance companies allowed to compete across state lines. Auto insurance companies are allowed to do this. And look what we get: TONS of commercials (geckos, waitresses, etc.) fighting tooth and nail for our business. That could apply to health insurance if they were allowed to compete.
I've actually heard both of these issues debated by Washington insiders in the last few weeks. That is very good news. I hope it amounts to something.
