This will be interesting to see if it starts a precedence in the Catholic Church. Being Pope may no be your last job on this earth. Your to old so you quit. Iike the idea. I guess he is resigning on Feb.28th.
POPE

I'd like to see this start a trend with some of our politicians.
As for the soon-to-be-ex Pope, I doubt they will have to worry about him for long. My guess is that his imminent mortality is what made up his mind to throw in the cassock. He probably wanted to spend his remaining weeks not being bothered by the pressures of the job.

He said himself that it was because of his health; that he didn't have the strength to fulfill his duties to the church.
And term limits for politicians is a bad idea. They take power away from the voters. The ability to THROW OUT a cheating, conniving, lying bastard of a politician is a right reserved for the voters. Term limits takes that away, and is wrong, wrong, wrong (in my humble opinion).

Good for him it's about time one of them spoke up about having an 85 year old run the damn place. As far as term limits go I do agree with you in a way. But it seem that the idea of voting the fuckers out office is not working very good. Just think who would still be President if it wasn't for term limits. Clinton might of made it his life's work and I think he could have won 2 or 3 more terms as President. If we can't vote the fuckers out the let's at least have the term limits to fall back on. 4 terms (8 years) for congress and 2 terms(12 years for the Senate.
