I am very excited. After loosing the love of our lives, Hunter our Coon Cat last Christmas we have located two adorable Coon Kittens. We hope to have them at home by next Sunday.
Our home and hearts have been so sad without Hunter. We really need someone to fill the hole we have in our home. Finding new kids in the middle of winter in Chicago has been a challenge. Cats are fairly smart and don't have babies when it's going to be sub zero temps. We had to break down and find a breeder. We have always adopted kids from shelters in the past but we just can't wait until they show up around the tundra here.
We ended up getting two; brother and sister Maine Coon kittens. The boy a tabby and the girl a mctabby. Photos to come soon.

Please, let's be politically correct here. They are African American Kittens.
Aside from that, congrats! I hope they make you as happy as Martini makes Hazel and me.
Edit: Do they have names yet? Do you need suggestions?

Mannix is a good name. But if it was me, I'd rename the other one Magnum. Both are good followups to Hunter!

You are going to have SO much fun having siblings in the house!! My cats, Foxy and Wolfie, are brothers, and because they have that bond they play together all the time like they are still kittens. They rough and tumble, chase each other round the house and get up to total mischief and mayhem when they set their minds to it... which they of course highly coordinate between themselves for maximum shock and awe.

I also like Mannix too but Art was thinking of Fox, Colt or Remmington.
I don't care for the Miley name because it reminds me of Miley Cyrus. I've been thinking about Venus but think I should meet her first. I like the Magnum suggestion but don't think it's much of a girls name. Other girl name suggestions are welcome.
If you haven't guessed he gets to name the boy and me the girl.

Since Hunter and Mannix are both TV detectives, I was thinking that theme would be cool. If you want a girl's name, you could go with Cagney or Lacey! Or Jessica, I suppose.

Good ideas Jake but I don't think Art will keep the Mannix name.
We will have a grueling weekend driving to St. Joseph MO Saturday, picking up the kids Sunday morning and driving right back home. About 8 hours each way. We were planning on meeting half way but her sick mother caused her to cancel her end of the trip until next weekend. We just can't wait and will do an overnight to drive the entire trip. Photos next week!

After a 1,020 miles round trip this week end we have our new kids. Our older girl Xenia is not liking the invasion yet. We have the little ones sequestered off in the master bedroom with the jungle gym. water food, kitty litter and a million toys.
Just like a man Max slept with us last night but our girl Foxy is playing hard to get. I'll have photos tomorrow.

Getting good photos of these little ones is a challange. They don't like staying in one place too long and the flash makes them close their eyes and or turn their heads. This is the best I could do. Max sleeping On the road home. Check out these wiskers Max hating the flash Foxy taking a nap Max and me
