Hillary is now a private citizen. So, what did she accomplish as Secretary of State?
You can’t really see that she did anything of great note. The withdrawal from Iraq and drawdown of Afghanistan is not her doing but a decision from the White House to fulfill campaign promises. Nothing she negoiated.
I can’t see that she has improved our standing with troubling Pakistan, North Korea, Syria, North Africa or Iran. Granted she did lobby for and help get some tougher UN sanctions against Iran but that’s about all I see.
Her involvement or should we say non-involvement in the Benghazi debacle is nothing short of a huge embarrassment and failure in her last months on the job.
So why in the heck is she so popular with high approval ratings upon her exit?

To be fair, I can't think of any great accomplishment by any recent Sec of State. They aren't really solo heroes charging into the world to do great things. They are just cogs in the giant machine of state, putting a face on the administration to the rest of the planet.

Hillary's bio from the State Department does not have one accomplishment listed as Secretary of State... history.state.gov/departmenthistory/people/clinton-hillary-rodhamOK Jake, highlighted are some tangible accomplishments by Rice and Powell. I can not find anything similar in Clinton's bio.

With such weasel-words as "supported," "championed," "worked actively," "worked to improve," "confronted," and "advocated," Condi's and Colin's successes seem about equally nebulous as Hillary's.

So why in the heck is she so popular with high approval ratings upon her exit? Because of who she is. I don't get that. She's popular because she's riding Bill's coattails? He hasn't been relevant for a long time.

Just because of who she is. Former First Lady, former US Senator, former candidate for POTUS, and now former SoS, and most of all just plain old name recognition. She doesn't need Bills coattails anymore.
Edited to add: Just because she is who she is I do not mean to say that she did anything outstanding as SoS.
