I know they need troops, but the Bravo Company of the Texas National Guard (based at Kilgore) has been ridden hard and put up wet. Katrina and other hurricane duty, 168 of them were in combat in Iraq at one time (counting the regulars, 2% of the town's population was in Iraq). Now, 120 have been called up for Afghanistan duty on April 3. They fought well, never complained (maybe they should have), but these are oil field workers, nurses, engineers etc. who served in the regular military at one time, who stay current with the military in the event of natural disasters or world wars breaking out. Too much.
