The tone of your post sounds like you think the RNC is a flaming disaster. Sure, they did not retake the presidency, but they only lost by a few percentage points in the popular vote, and they retained control of the House. It hardly counts as a "burn down the building and start from the ground up" situation.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I think his job performance was a 6. Can he do a good enough job to keep the house over the next two years? I don't know. If things start moving the demos will get the credit.
The other big question is, who in the hell do they have to take his place?

They retained control of the House by redistricting, the total popular vote for members of the house was a Dem plurality by about 0.5%. That just shows how important control of the state legislatures are after the census comes in.
As for the (Edited) Presidential (end edit) popular vote, it was a smaller margin than in 08, but still a larger margin than either of the W wins (when the end of the Democratic Party was predicted).
Given the expectations of last spring, that is a Republican Senate majority and a Republican White House... if you think he is the man for that job at the top of the RNC, thats fine with me.

Yeah, it's definitely a real head-scratcher when you read someone's extremist over-reaction to something done by a politician ... innit?
